A 32-year-old woman was killed after the motorcycle on which she was travelling lost control while trying to avoid a pothole at Ananthanagar near Hebbagodi in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The deceased, Medha, a native of Kerala, was working at the Provident Fund office in Electronic City. She was travelling as a pillion rider with her friend Ajay Guru when the accident occurred. According to the information available, a car travelling ahead of the motorcycle suddenly applied brakes while attempting to avoid a pothole. The motorcycle rider reportedly lost control of the vehicle and Medha, who was seated on the pillion, fell onto the road. At the same time, a goods vehicle coming from behind ran over her neck. She suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The accident triggered anger among local residents, who staged a protest at the spot and blocked the road. Residents alleged that several roads in and around Electronic City were in poor condition and riddled with potholes.
