I faced this in Anambra February this year. They beat me up and took me to their station and forced me to accept an identity that I’m not while recording me under duress. After that, they demanded 500k from me. I was just lucky that I was able to put a call through to my uncle who is a reverend father in the Onitsha archdiocese. He rushed down there within 10 minutes and made some calls before they let me go. The Nigerian police are evil and the government knows all these things happening but just use them as a tool to suppress the youth. That’s why I’m angry with idiots who support this government yet come online to rant about police brutality. Stupid people who can’t understand that it’s the same government they support that enable all these nonsense.
