A Mayo Clinic-developed artificial intelligence (AI) model can help specialists detect pancreatic cancer on routine abdominal CT scans up to three years before clinical diagnosis. It identifies subtle signs of disease before tumors are visible, when curative treatment may still be possible. The findings, published in Gut, mark a...

Some of the most serious diseases in women progress for a long time without showing any symptoms. Cervical diseases, in particular, are often completely silent in the early stages. They can develop over years without pain, bleeding, or any noticeable complaints. Therefore, a Pap smear is not just a test, but one of the most powerful tools for early diagnosis. A Pap smear is a screening test that takes a sample of cells from the cervix. The aim is to detect cellular changes before they turn into cancer. Because cervical cancer is not a disease that develops suddenly; it is mostly the result of long-term cellular changes. The most critical point is this: Most patients feel nothing in the early stages. So, the approach of "if there are no symptoms, there is no problem" is not valid for this disease. Thanks to Pap smears: Precancerous lesions can be detected early. Treatment becomes much easier and more effective. Disease progression can be largely prevented. ACOG recommendations: 21–29 years → Pap smear every 3 years 30–65 years → * Pap smear every 3 years * or HPV test every 5 years * or co-test every 5 years (smear + HPV test) After 65 years of age, screening is discontinued in suitable patients. The procedure is short, often painless, and does not affect daily life. Common concerns in society are embarrassment, fear, or procrastination. However, a screening that takes only a few minutes can prevent a serious disease that could last for years.

PHOTON COUNTING CT AND A NEW CONCEPT OF NORMAL CORONARY ARTERIES For more than 2 decades we have been performing Cardiac CT with constant improvements in all parameters (spatial, temporal and contrast resolution). The improvements were progressive in certain fields and steep in other (e.g.: the introduction of Dual Source CT that completely changed the range of temporal resolution achievable basically overnight and still is the most important source of flexibility in Cardiac CT scanning after almost 20 years). Spatial resolution instead was improved in a slow and progressive way until the test EID CT generations that achieved a spatial resolution of 250 microns. This allowed us to assess a coronary artery tree and define it as normal when no apprentice changes were visibile up to that value. But we know that the normal thickness of coronary artery walls is quite below that threshold. It is more in the range of 80-200 microns. Therefore, the very early changes in coronary artery wall thickness could not be picked up by EID CT technology. With the introduction of PCCT we can constantly achieve 100 microns spatial resolution which means that we work extol in range in which coronary artery disease starts. It also means that we don't see any thickening of the the coronary artery walls we have a much higher specificity and reliability. This concept is a transformative one because it allows us to shift earlier and earlier the beginning of atherosclerosis in our patients and think even more precisely in terms of cardiovascular prevention and monitoring. Movie: example of normal coronary artery tree with PCCT. A new era is coming into practice and it is the age of Photon Counting CT which pushes this boundaries further away. PCCT is a NEW Imaging Modality. PCCT is changing the game, the field, the language, the priorities and in the end it will change the entire infrastructure of diagnostic medicine. PS: note that PCCT images have to be reduced in resolution when uploaded in social media. #CardiacImaging #MedicalInnovation #StentAssessment #Radiology #PCCT #photoncounting #QuantumHD #CT #computedtomography #yesCCT #coronaryarterydisease #ischemia #naeotomalpha #Peak #Pro #Prime #speed #cardiac #highresolution #siemenshealthinners #CardiacCT #PhotonCountingCT #MedicalImaging #HeartHealth #CardiovascularInnovation #Radiology #AIInMedicine

Dear Min of Trade |Rwanda ! Greetings from the community! I vividly remember that a few years ago the government introduced potato collection centres as part of a broader effort to address the long-standing imbalance between farm-gate prices and market prices in Kigali. The objective was straightforward; organize the value chain, reduce the influence of middlemen, improve farmers’ bargaining power and ensure that consumers accessed potatoes at fair and stable prices. Today, however, the situation raises important questions. We are witnessing what appears to be a bumper harvest, yet farmers are struggling to sell their produce at prices that reflect the effort and investment they have made. According to reports from Kigali Today, in Nyabihu District, a kilogram of the highest-quality Kinigi potatoes is selling for around Rwf 550, while the same potatoes can fetch as much as Rwf 1,300 per kilogram in Kigali. Traders are reportedly only purchasing in lots of 100 kilograms because there is an oversupply, and those with private vehicles are taking advantage of the price difference by transporting potatoes directly to urban markets. This is where modern technology, particularly artificial intelligence and data analytics, could play a transformative role. AI can help forecast production volumes, anticipate market demand, identify supply bottlenecks, optimize transport routes, and provide real-time pricing information to farmers, traders, and policymakers. Such insights would enable better planning before harvests, reducing the likelihood of oversupply in one area while shortages exist elsewhere. The bigger question is; what happened to the systems that were established to stabilize this market? Are the collection centres still functioning as intended? If they are, why are farmers still facing such significant price disparities? If they are not, what lessons have been learned? A high harvest should be a source of prosperity for farmers, not financial distress. As Rwanda continues embracing digital transformation, strengthening agricultural market intelligence should become a priority to ensure that both producers and consumers benefit from a more efficient, transparent, and equitable value chain. The occult begins with a single question. What do you see when your ordinary sight ends? 👁️✨ The occult is about the eye that sees what others refuse to see. The word occult comes from "oculus" ", the eye. The hidden. The unseen. The force that watches beneath the surface of reality. Long before books and rituals, power belonged to those who could see what others could not. From the beginning, the occult was born from sight. Not physical sight. Inner sight. The oculus. The capacity to perceive what the ordinary mind filters out. In Delphi, the priestesses entered trance to read the subtle currents beneath human fate. In Egypt, seers watched the movements of stars, interpreting the patterns of destiny. In Sumer, diviners read omens in flame, oil and shadow. In the Celtic lands, druids trained their vision through nature, dream and symbolic signs. In the East, mystics sharpened perception through breath, stillness and the awakening of the inner eye. Every culture had its own doorway, but the principle was the same. The true practitioner is the one who sees. They detect shifts before they manifest. They read intentions before words are spoken. They sense the path of a soul long before it chooses a direction. Clairvoyance is not fantasy. It is perception without filters. It is the eye that looks inward and outward at the same time. It is the ancient ability to read symbols, energies, intentions and the movements of fate long before they surface. The eye in magic represents mastery over awareness. To see is to know. To know is to choose. To choose is to shape reality. In every tradition, the awakened eye belongs to the practitioner, the healer, the warrior of consciousness. The one who refuses to move blindly. The one who sharpens intuition until it becomes vision. Follow The White Rabbit 🐇
