A short timeline. Just what happened, in order. Decide for yourselves. 1. A DRep (⛏️Dr. Navjit Dhaliwal) asked whether DReps with paid IO-linked roles should abstain on IO's treasury proposals. A normal conflict-of-interest question. 2. Charles did not answer the question. He went after Iagon - publicly, repeatedly, over days, to his 1M+ follower account, with IO employees and IO-aligned accounts amplifying. He said Navjit had "lost the plot," called the concern "objectively wrong," and publicly stated Iagon's leadership should be replaced or the project could collapse. 3. IAG fell ~32% in 24h. Holders - who are also ADA holders - lost real money. 4. As IAG was crashing, the price-crash chart was posted at Charles. He replied with a video clip of Bane: "Your punishment must be more severe... not of your body... of your soul." 5. Charles began describing the conflict-of-interest question as an "attack on his ambassadors." It was not. No ambassador was attacked. A DRep asked, in public, whether DReps with paid IO ties should abstain on IO's proposals - a standard governance question. Reframing a question as an "attack" is what made everything that followed look justified. 6. On that false premise, Charles hosted an X Space and said, about the token holders of a project in his own ecosystem: "I don't give a shit about your token holders... I don't give a shit about your bag holders... If you attack my ambassadors, I will burn you to the ground." He also said the way out was to "apologize" and "back the fuck off." 7. When a community member said I was "obsessed," Charles replied that I have "CDS," that it is "incurable," and that people should "let him go." CDS - Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome - is a veterinary diagnosis: age-related dementia in dogs and cats. So a sitting DRep raising sourced concerns was described in the language a vet uses for a deteriorating animal. 8. Charles then posted a unity video: the only thing that can destroy Cardano is internal fighting. 9. When some Japanese DReps voted against IO's research proposal, Charles posted directly to the Japanese community: if the proposal did not pass, "Cardano will lose its scientists" and "our lab will be forced to close." He then asked the community to "delegate to dReps who support Cardano's research agenda" - in other words, to move voting power away from DReps who voted the wrong way. When that pressure did not deliver the result, the threat hardened: approve the proposal, or be responsible for ending Cardano's research entirely. Only after this also failed to work did the tone suddenly soften. 10. As hundreds of holders engaged with these concerns, Charles shifted tone - "#strongertogether," inviting conversation. 11. I took that at face value. Then I did something he never did. After he attacked Iagon, after the "burn you to the ground," after his words helped wipe ~32% off a token held by thousands - I was the one who extended a hand. I publicly offered him a private, no-recording, one-on-one call. Man to man. Not for me - for the ecosystem. The person who was attacked took the first step toward peace. 12. His public answer to that olive branch was the pattern again, in one post. He said: "Tell him to go to hell." He demanded I issue "a public apology FOR EVERYTHING he said" before he would even speak. He said: "You don't treat me like a human toilet." And then, in the last three lines: "He's trash. Everyone can see it now. We move on." Read that ending again. I offered him a private, calm conversation - and his response was to call me "trash" and tell the audience that this proves something about me. He attacked, and in the same breath framed the attack as evidence against the person he attacked. That is the reversal in its purest form: be the aggressor, then announce that the aggression exposes the victim. That is the sequence. I offered a calm, private conversation - and that was the response to it. One more thing worth seeing plainly. Not days apart. The same afternoon - roughly two hours between these two posts. First, in public, to the ecosystem: "Cardano is alive. The community is engaged... You are not passive holders. You are owners." "Let me show up the way I should." "I am inviting all of you to sit down and have a real conversation." "I am 100% focused on Cardano and Midnight. #strongertogether" Roughly two hours later, to me, after I publicly offered exactly that - a private, calm, one-on-one conversation: "Tell him to go to hell." "Have him issue a public apology FOR EVERYTHING he said." "You don't treat me like a human toilet." "He's trash. Everyone can see it now." That is the gap. "Stronger together" for the audience. Two hours later, "go to hell" and "he's trash" for the person who took him up on it. A real invitation to talk does not come with a demand to grovel first - and it does not curdle into "go to hell" within the same afternoon. Look at the whole shape of this. He attacked. He did not answer the question - he went after the people who asked it. When the damage was done and holders were losing money, he posted about punishment and souls. He said in public he would burn people to the ground. He pressured an entire national community to vote his way or be blamed for the end of Cardano's research. And then, step by step, he became the victim. The question became an "attack." The critics became aggressors. The man with 1M followers and the treasury proposals became the wronged party defending the vulnerable. When I - the one who was attacked - offered peace, he framed himself as the one owed an apology, and called me "trash" for asking. That reversal has a name: DARVO. Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. It is not a diagnosis. It is a pattern, and the record above is the pattern, step by step, in his own words. So the practical question stands: Is this conduct - the attacks, the Bane clip aimed at people losing money, the "burn you to the ground," the pressure on the Japanese community, the false "victim" framing, the rejection of a good-faith olive branch - the conduct of someone who should be trusted with hundreds of millions of ADA from the community treasury? Cardano does not have a "leader." It has a community, a treasury, and contractors who ask that community for funding. IO is one of those contractors - currently asking for hundreds of millions of ADA, with a track record of missed timelines. A contractor asking the community for money does not get to attack the members of that community for doing the exact thing the governance system was built for: participating, voting, and asking questions. Way back in 1996, I was working on Diddy Kong Racing. Probably the most fun I've had in my entire life! One of the most fun parts was creating animation sequences using the custom made software by Rob Harrison who was one of the lead programmers on the team. After I gave him a list of features I needed it to have, Robert created a great editor based on a simplified timeline editor similar to what I had previously used in Alias Poweranimator. Characters, objects and cameras would follow paths that I could draw to create motion, and along those paths I could place 'trigger' events which were usually icons that looked like a musical note or a special effect. So for instance, during the start sequence when Diddy Kong flies around the famous 'N64' logo high up in the clouds, Diddy Followed a path and as he hit triggers along the way, special sound effects were triggered and twinkle star particles were emitted. The sky background was simply a spinning cylinder with a basic blue sky texture on it. However, although it sounds simple, scenes soon became very complicated, and this WIZPIG end sequence after defeating him for the first time was a lot to handle. I made the characters follow paths which ran all over the place triggering sound effects as they ran away from the evil boss! I had so much fun creating sequences, and doing WIZPIG's VOICE! But none of this would have been possible without the great work from Rob to give me a great tool to animate those sequences which really brought the game to life! All of the team worked their asses off in a red hot barn during that summer, but we loved every minute - and it shows in the game! I remember Chris Stamper being really impressed with the speed we were putting this kind of thing together thanks to the way we were communicating with each other as a team. But with this particular sequence he wasn't happy when he saw I was building a lighthouse. I remember him asking why I was wasting memory on graphics because it was in short supply - and everything should be built for a reason. (And quite rightly so) However, little did he know it would become a rocket ship for Wizpig to launch into space with, and ride around the space racetrack, but he soon found out! Lee Schuneman did a great job bringing the team together and getting them to trust in his vision of a racing game with an 'adventure' element. The amazing front end by Johnni Christiensen set it apart from many other games with it's bold use of colour and great cartoony style And that music you hear is by non other than my best pal David Wise! I lived in MrBeast 's makeshift city while I competed for $5 million as part of the largest game show in history. While I didn’t win the grand prize, I became convinced that creators are natural candidates to lead massive long-term living communities. Let me explain: MY BEAST CITY EXPERIENCE Beast City was complete with sports facilities, a five-story tower, a cafe, cabin-style housing for 500, and a college-style quad. Living in Beast City felt less like a high-stakes game and more like a fully-realized experimental society. It was clearly designed with communal purpose in mind - sleeping quarters were positioned along the edges, while common gathering spaces occupied the center. This layout encouraged natural interactions, chance meetings, and shared moments that felt organic, not forced. Connections formed while we ate breakfast, strategized in small groups, or played sports in between official challenges. While viewers at home watching Beast Games will remember the psychological twists, the monster trucks, and the private islands, the most enduring legacy of Beast City for the bulk of its residents will be the bonds we formed with other contestants in this Nuketown lookalike. As many would remark on Instagram or in groupchats afterwards “other people just won’t understand what it was like.” The bubble we lived in helped us become friends faster. Most folks there shared both 1) a common appreciation for Mr. Beast’s content and 2) a distinct experience participating in the games. The experience helped reinforce a hypothesis of mine: creators are extremely well positioned to lead IRL experiences that foster organic connection, make money, and help address a loneliness crisis. CREATORS SHOULD CREATE THEMED OVERNIGHT IRL EXPERIENCES 1 in 5 US adults say they feel lonely every day. This is partially because of the decline of our in-person communities. Jobs are increasingly remote. School is online. Dating is in the DMs. Our generation barely goes to church any more, but we do tune in to watch our favorite creators every week. Creators have the distribution and loyalty to create themed IRL experiences and fill them with their fans. This advantage should not be overlooked. Elsewhere on the internet, coliving communities and startup cities attempting to host IRL experiences struggle to aggregate demand. Creators don’t have that challenge. To some extent, creators already host meet ups. 💯 Jesser hosts basketball tournaments. Alexandra Botez and Andrea Botez hosted an overnight chess camp. I predict that these creator-led living experiences will get longer and support more people. It’s now very feasible that 1,000 people who follow a certain creator online could live in the same place for a whole year. Balaji has a large audience on X where he also writes extensively about tech and Network States. A single tweet he wrote in August about a three month “Network School” pop-up (more on that in another forthcoming post) generated so much demand that we filled the first cohort of 150 people instantly and built a waitlist of ~5,000 people with no other marketing. Large creators will follow suit to host IRL longterm living experiences because it can be very profitable (and fun!). If creators develop/rent a campus where housing units cost them $250-1,000/month, they can easily charge $2-4,000/month by including basic shared amenities and themed programming. Dedicated fans will pay the premium to live near a community of like-minded folks. That margin is a great business model, and I can think of a few obvious ways this could happen soon: 1) I imagine that Bryan Johnson will build a longevity-focused living community that prioritizes great sleep conditions and healthy foods. 2) Video game creators will might creating the ideal configuration for gaming with each other with e-sports arenas and gigabit internet connections. 3) Musicians can host songwriting camps and longer-term housing organized around recording studios so that they can make songs whenever genius strikes. We humans are happiest surrounded by people we admire or love. YouTubers and other creators with large, engaged audiences are best positioned to use their internet audiences to aggregate demand into themed massive living experiences that will profitably help participants feel the same belonging we all crave. BTC closed green again on Thursday, but I still read this market as caution, not confidence. The lower wick to $73,309 helped the candle, but daily RSI pushed overbought at 70.76 while printing lower highs than both April 11 and March 16. That keeps BTC pinned under what I’m now calling iron fortress resistance, while spaghetti support looks increasingly fragile. On the 4-hour, I still do not see the clean bearish reversal signal I would normally want, and that is exactly why this price action feels so weird to me. Price looks propped up, not strong. Ethereum is showing the same kind of weakness. ETH has now spent five straight days failing to close above TBO resistance at 23.76, and I still think a pullback toward the Fast line near 22.26 makes more sense than a clean breakout. At the same time, BTC dominance dropped hard, stablecoin dominance also moved lower, and alts exploded across the board. Normally that would sound bullish, but this move looks too aggressive and too suspicious for me to trust. OTHERS, TOTALE50, and TOTALE100 all ripped higher in a way that feels more like rotation, short squeezing, or outright exit-pump behavior than healthy trend continuation. TradFi is not making me feel any safer either. DXY confirmed a pivot low and now looks ready to move higher toward the open gap, which would add more pressure on USDJPY and keep macro conditions hostile. ES futures printed a fresh all-time high, the Nikkei also pushed higher, and Tesla ripped, but volume has been fading on the move, which makes the rally look unstable to me. Oil still has an upside gap that may need filling, gold is chopping inside the cloud, and uranium just broke out above its bull flag. On my watchlist, I’m focused on the charts that pumped hardest into resistance and now look the most vulnerable if this move fades, including XRP, BNB, SOL, LINK, SUI, ENA, LDO, INJ, FIL, AAVE, PENGU, PUMP, VIRTUAL, ADA, APT, HYPE, Binance Life, RAVE, Monad, Render, CHZ, XLM, SIREN, CFX, ZBCN, PIPPIN, and WAL. My main takeaway today is simple: this market is moving in a very weird way, and in a bear market I would rather respect the macro trend and take profit on suspicious pumps than assume this is the start of a clean breakout.
