I’ve been craving a video editor with motion baked in, designed to work with my own AI agents. Claude, Codex, whatever I want to use. I don’t want to be blocked by someone else’s credit system for every little interaction. I also wanted a Figma-like canvas/editor for when I want to jump in and tweak any little detail. So we built it: Video & audio editing: cut, zoom, speed up, add B-roll. Motion, animation, 3D, custom shaders & effects, custom 3D models, dynamic components & templates, audio and beat matching. And it’s all programmable. Design your own assets directly on the canvas, bring them in from Figma or the web, or just let the agent find them, mock them up, or record what it needs automatically. You can even drop in your screen recordings and just let loose. ツSupercut users: yes, it’ll have first-class support for your recordings, but it’ll work with anything. I met the guy behind Paperclip. he won't show his face, but he just built one of the FASTEST growing open-source projects in AI. how to use Paperclip to hire AI agents to ACTUALLY run a startup with 0 employees: 1. with paperclip, you hire a team of AI agents like CEO, engineer, QA, video editor, content strategist and manage them from one dashboard. it works with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or any model on OpenRouter. you're not locked into one provider. 2. your AI agents wake up capable but with zero memory. they don't know who they are, where they are, or what they're supposed to be doing. kinda like that movie memento from back in the day you need to leave them Polaroids like heartbeat checklists, persona prompts, written context. that's how you keep them on track. 3. when an agent makes a mistake, you don't rewrite everything. you add one rule to their persona prompt. "always define a success condition for every task." "always pass work to QA before closing." you're training them like you'd train a junior hire. one correction at a time. 4. skills extend what your agents can do. want a video editor who can produce animated content? install the Remotion skill. want security reviews? there's a skill for that. 5. the biggest lever for quality is encoding your own taste. The July 4th weekend All-In The All-In Podcast turned into a long argument about who owns the intelligence layer. The besties think enterprises just woke up to a trap they had been walking into, here's how the conversation went (save this): ◽️ The Palantir-Nvidia deal is a bet against the model-layer duopoly. Palantir will use Nvidia's Nemotron open models to build a custom frontier-quality model for US government agencies, and the agencies own the hardware, the data, and the weights. Sacks framed it as structural: an application company and a chip company both want a competitive model layer, so they are natural partners against a two-provider middle. ◽️ Alex Karp's CNBC "crashout" was actually the thesis. Karp argued enterprises have lost trust in the frontier labs and want to own their compute, models, data, and alpha. Sacks translated it as a new definition of enterprise AI safety: safety means the model provider cannot hoover up your proprietary knowledge and turn it into its next product. ◽️ Figma is the cautionary tale that made it real. Anthropic launched Claude Design into Figma's category, its chief product officer sat on Figma's board and resigned only 3 days before launch, and Figma's stock is down about 50% this year while Anthropic's valuation surged. Chamath ran a code-migration task through 8090's harness. Wrapping Claude was 1.4x cheaper and 1.5x faster than Claude Opus alone. Wrapping the best open-source model was 16.4x cheaper, at about 3x slower. For a background task, three extra hours to cut cost by 16x is not a close call. ◽️ Even at 100x cheaper, enterprises were saying no for the wrong reason. Chamath relayed an ex-Meta PM's point that companies reject open models over China and safety fears, when they could host those same open weights on their own GPUs in US data centers with nothing flowing back. The safety objection, she argued, is backwards: the leak is the data you hand the frontier labs. ◽️ Friedberg says the frontier labs are trying to commoditize their own customers. Anthropic has been signing up life-sciences companies to feed a new life-focused model in exchange for early access, and nearly everyone he has talked to now refuses, recognizing that data they spent billions generating becomes worthless once it is pooled with everyone else's. ◽️ The deployment topology is shifting from big hubs to distributed spokes. Friedberg's map: the old assumption was a few capital-advantaged mega-clusters plus inference clouds. The new one is large hubs, medium hubs (enterprise training clusters), and distributed spokes, including on-prem inference in your own building. Owning your weights is the point. ◽️ Chamath's endgame is running GLM himself. An industry contact told him that with harness post-training and telemetry, an open Chinese model like GLM could get as good as Anthropic's Mythos. His conclusion: take GLM, control it soup-to-nuts on US hardware with only US citizens touching it, and pay a fraction. ◽️ The Apple analogy sharpens why renting intelligence is different from renting distribution. Chamath argued Apple is the only platform that respected developers, deliberately keeping its stock apps basic to protect the ecosystem and collect its 30% tax. There is no 30% tax on open models, and worse, you cannot rent intelligence from the same place that rents it to your competitor without ending up identical to them. ◽️ Nvidia's open model is now good enough to matter. Calacanis claimed you cannot tell Jensen Huang's Nemotron from Claude on 95% of searches, and that Nvidia downplayed the model until now to avoid alarming its top customers. The gloves came off once OpenAI, Anthropic, and Elon all signaled their own silicon ambitions. ◽️ Sacks sized the duopoly: roughly $60B and $40B in ARR. Anthropic is around ~$60 billion of ARR, OpenAI at ~$40 billion, and no one else generates meaningful model-layer revenue. Sacks's policy line: the US does not ban monopolies, only anti-competitive tactics, but the government should do nothing to make the duopoly more likely. ◽️ The token deflation call: 90% a year for three years. Calacanis predicted token costs fall 90% annually for three years, putting the price of intelligence near free and making it rational to waste tokens on hardware you already own. Friedberg's version is a 70/20/10 split between big cloud, local, and other clouds. ◽️ A wave of platform lock-in spending is already landing. Calacanis flagged Microsoft standing up a roughly $2.5 billion forward-deployed-engineer effort and Amazon spending about $1 billion on the same, plus OpenAI's version. His read: enterprises will slam the door, because letting a provider's engineers study your business is how it ends up in their model. ◽️ The server-per-employee prediction. Calacanis expects every employee to get $10,000 to $20,000 of local compute, a Mac Studio or a high-RAM Dell, running a personal local model that syncs to a thin laptop. A server per person, so nothing leaks. ◽️ On jobs, the data does not show present-tense loss. Sacks cited a RAMP and Revelio Labs study of over 21,000 US firms: the heaviest AI spenders grew headcount about 10% over two years, and entry-level headcount grew even faster at 12%. Friedberg's harder claim: there is no AI job loss yet, only clunky, gradual value creation, and the media will not reverse its narrative because that destroys its credibility. ◽️ The displacement case is real but forward-dated. Chamath cited a BCG return-on-capital-employed study: the cost of capital is back to its long-run 8 to 11%, and half of large US companies cannot earn returns above it. If you are already teetering on your cost of capital, handing your alpha to a provider that may compete with you is not a luxury risk, it is fatal. ◽️ The 16.4x number is the whole argument in one data point. Chamath ran a code-migration task through 8090's harness. Wrapping Claude was 1.4x cheaper and 1.5x faster than Claude Opus alone. Wrapping the best open-source model was 16.4x cheaper, at about 3x slower. For a background task, three extra hours to cut cost by 16x is not a close call. ◽️ Even at 100x cheaper, enterprises were saying no for the wrong reason. Chamath relayed an ex-Meta PM's point that companies reject open models over China and safety fears, when they could host those same open weights on their own GPUs in US data centers with nothing flowing back. The safety objection, she argued, is backwards: the leak is the data you hand the frontier labs. ◽️ Friedberg says the frontier labs are trying to commoditize their own customers. Anthropic has been signing up life-sciences companies to feed a new life-focused model in exchange for early access, and nearly everyone he has talked to now refuses, recognizing that data they spent billions generating becomes worthless once it is pooled with everyone else's. ◽️ The deployment topology is shifting from big hubs to distributed spokes. Friedberg's map: the old assumption was a few capital-advantaged mega-clusters plus inference clouds. The new one is large hubs, medium hubs (enterprise training clusters), and distributed spokes, including on-prem inference in your own building. Owning your weights is the point. ◽️ Chamath's endgame is running GLM himself. An industry contact told him that with harness post-training and telemetry, an open Chinese model like GLM could get as good as Anthropic's Mythos. His conclusion: take GLM, control it soup-to-nuts on US hardware with only US citizens touching it, and pay a fraction. ◽️ The Apple analogy sharpens why renting intelligence is different from renting distribution. Chamath argued Apple is the only platform that respected developers, deliberately keeping its stock apps basic to protect the ecosystem and collect its 30% tax. There is no 30% tax on open models, and worse, you cannot rent intelligence from the same place that rents it to your competitor without ending up identical to them. ◽️ Nvidia's open model is now good enough to matter. Calacanis claimed you cannot tell Jensen Huang's Nemotron from Claude on 95% of searches, and that Nvidia downplayed the model until now to avoid alarming its top customers. The gloves came off once OpenAI, Anthropic, and Elon all signaled their own silicon ambitions. ◽️ Sacks sized the duopoly: roughly $60B and $40B in ARR. Anthropic is around ~$60 billion of ARR, OpenAI at ~$40 billion, and no one else generates meaningful model-layer revenue. Sacks's policy line: the US does not ban monopolies, only anti-competitive tactics, but the government should do nothing to make the duopoly more likely. ◽️ The token deflation call: 90% a year for three years. Calacanis predicted token costs fall 90% annually for three years, putting the price of intelligence near free and making it rational to waste tokens on hardware you already own. Friedberg's version is a 70/20/10 split between big cloud, local, and other clouds. ◽️ A wave of platform lock-in spending is already landing. Calacanis flagged Microsoft standing up a roughly $2.5 billion forward-deployed-engineer effort and Amazon spending about $1 billion on the same, plus OpenAI's version. His read: enterprises will slam the door, because letting a provider's engineers study your business is how it ends up in their model. ◽️ The server-per-employee prediction. Calacanis expects every employee to get $10,000 to $20,000 of local compute, a Mac Studio or a high-RAM Dell, running a personal local model that syncs to a thin laptop. A server per person, so nothing leaks. ◽️ On jobs, the data does not show present-tense loss. Sacks cited a RAMP and Revelio Labs study of over 21,000 US firms: the heaviest AI spenders grew headcount about 10% over two years, and entry-level headcount grew even faster at 12%. Friedberg's harder claim: there is no AI job loss yet, only clunky, gradual value creation, and the media will not reverse its narrative because that destroys its credibility. ◽️ The displacement case is real but forward-dated. The counterpoint on the show was that customer support, entry-level data entry and BPO, and driving are the near-term displacements, with Waymo cited as present-tense evidence: in markets where it hits critical mass, Uber and Lyft stop recruiting drivers. Sacks noted most US entry-level support was already offshored, so the acute risk sits in those countries first. ◽️ The human-premium counternarrative. Friedberg argued that as automation spreads, human interaction gets a premium: the skilled bartender, the real driver, the human-in-the-loop tier. He cited the company (referenced as Klarna) that hyped replacing its whole support team with AI, then reversed a year later on brand grounds. ◽️ The export-control episode needed three conditions, and Sacks says do not over-read it. Commerce lifted controls on Anthropic's Fable 5 after two weeks, with Mythos 5 restored to US customers around June 26 once co-founder Tom Brown replaced Dario as lead negotiator. Sacks's three conditions: Dario boasting for months about a cyber weapon, Amazon reporting failed guardrails in testing, and Dario refusing to roll Fable back. His message to allies: this was a particular set of circumstances rather than the debut of a standing lever. ◽️ The import question nobody answered cleanly. Calacanis pressed on why the US blocks Chinese cars and drones but not Chinese open models like DeepSeek and Kimi. Sacks's answer: a forked open model run on US hardware stops being Chinese, and banning open source would isolate the US and impose a token tax on American enterprises, so let the market decide if American open models win. ◽️ The California fiscal story is a business-climate story. Friedberg walked through the numbers behind Newsom's "balanced" $351B budget: expenses exceed revenue and $20-40B is borrowed to close the gap, the budget grew 65% in six years ($215B to $355B), personal income tax is $142B of ~$211B revenue with the top 1% (150,000 people) paying $70B of it, and the corporate rate of 8.9% sits far above Texas at zero. ◽️ The tax base is leaving, and the state is now taxing everyone else. Friedberg cited 1 to 1.5% of adjusted gross income leaving each year (about 15% over a decade), at least 15 Fortune 500 HQs and ~2,100 firms gone since 2019, and a new 8% software sales tax hitting Word, Gmail, and ChatGPT subscriptions plus a health-insurance tax, on top of a now-permanent 14.4% top bracket. The liabilities behind it run $1.4T in debt, up to $1.5T in unfunded pensions senior to state bonds, and ~$40B/year in out-year deficits. Lastly, the line that framed the whole show: "You can't rent intelligence from the same place that rents it to your competitor." Way back in 1996, I was working on Diddy Kong Racing. Probably the most fun I've had in my entire life! One of the most fun parts was creating animation sequences using the custom made software by Rob Harrison who was one of the lead programmers on the team. After I gave him a list of features I needed it to have, Robert created a great editor based on a simplified timeline editor similar to what I had previously used in Alias Poweranimator. Characters, objects and cameras would follow paths that I could draw to create motion, and along those paths I could place 'trigger' events which were usually icons that looked like a musical note or a special effect. So for instance, during the start sequence when Diddy Kong flies around the famous 'N64' logo high up in the clouds, Diddy Followed a path and as he hit triggers along the way, special sound effects were triggered and twinkle star particles were emitted. The sky background was simply a spinning cylinder with a basic blue sky texture on it. However, although it sounds simple, scenes soon became very complicated, and this WIZPIG end sequence after defeating him for the first time was a lot to handle. I made the characters follow paths which ran all over the place triggering sound effects as they ran away from the evil boss! I had so much fun creating sequences, and doing WIZPIG's VOICE! But none of this would have been possible without the great work from Rob to give me a great tool to animate those sequences which really brought the game to life! All of the team worked their asses off in a red hot barn during that summer, but we loved every minute - and it shows in the game! I remember Chris Stamper being really impressed with the speed we were putting this kind of thing together thanks to the way we were communicating with each other as a team. But with this particular sequence he wasn't happy when he saw I was building a lighthouse. I remember him asking why I was wasting memory on graphics because it was in short supply - and everything should be built for a reason. (And quite rightly so) However, little did he know it would become a rocket ship for Wizpig to launch into space with, and ride around the space racetrack, but he soon found out! Lee Schuneman did a great job bringing the team together and getting them to trust in his vision of a racing game with an 'adventure' element. The amazing front end by Johnni Christiensen set it apart from many other games with it's bold use of colour and great cartoony style And that music you hear is by non other than my best pal David Wise! What a game! What a time we had! We all worked so hard - And some of the team now even work with me at Playtonic Games! I lived in MrBeast 's makeshift city while I competed for $5 million as part of the largest game show in history. While I didn’t win the grand prize, I became convinced that creators are natural candidates to lead massive long-term living communities. Let me explain: MY BEAST CITY EXPERIENCE Beast City was complete with sports facilities, a five-story tower, a cafe, cabin-style housing for 500, and a college-style quad. Living in Beast City felt less like a high-stakes game and more like a fully-realized experimental society. It was clearly designed with communal purpose in mind - sleeping quarters were positioned along the edges, while common gathering spaces occupied the center. This layout encouraged natural interactions, chance meetings, and shared moments that felt organic, not forced. Connections formed while we ate breakfast, strategized in small groups, or played sports in between official challenges. While viewers at home watching Beast Games will remember the psychological twists, the monster trucks, and the private islands, the most enduring legacy of Beast City for the bulk of its residents will be the bonds we formed with other contestants in this Nuketown lookalike. As many would remark on Instagram or in groupchats afterwards “other people just won’t understand what it was like.” The bubble we lived in helped us become friends faster. Most folks there shared both 1) a common appreciation for Mr. Beast’s content and 2) a distinct experience participating in the games. The experience helped reinforce a hypothesis of mine: creators are extremely well positioned to lead IRL experiences that foster organic connection, make money, and help address a loneliness crisis. CREATORS SHOULD CREATE THEMED OVERNIGHT IRL EXPERIENCES 1 in 5 US adults say they feel lonely every day. This is partially because of the decline of our in-person communities. Jobs are increasingly remote. School is online. Dating is in the DMs. Our generation barely goes to church any more, but we do tune in to watch our favorite creators every week. Creators have the distribution and loyalty to create themed IRL experiences and fill them with their fans. This advantage should not be overlooked. Elsewhere on the internet, coliving communities and startup cities attempting to host IRL experiences struggle to aggregate demand. Creators don’t have that challenge. To some extent, creators already host meet ups. 💯 Jesser hosts basketball tournaments. Alexandra Botez and Andrea Botez hosted an overnight chess camp. I predict that these creator-led living experiences will get longer and support more people. It’s now very feasible that 1,000 people who follow a certain creator online could live in the same place for a whole year. Balaji has a large audience on X where he also writes extensively about tech and Network States. A single tweet he wrote in August about a three month “Network School” pop-up (more on that in another forthcoming post) generated so much demand that we filled the first cohort of 150 people instantly and built a waitlist of ~5,000 people with no other marketing. Let me explain: MY BEAST CITY EXPERIENCE Beast City was complete with sports facilities, a five-story tower, a cafe, cabin-style housing for 500, and a college-style quad. Living in Beast City felt less like a high-stakes game and more like a fully-realized experimental society. It was clearly designed with communal purpose in mind - sleeping quarters were positioned along the edges, while common gathering spaces occupied the center. This layout encouraged natural interactions, chance meetings, and shared moments that felt organic, not forced. Connections formed while we ate breakfast, strategized in small groups, or played sports in between official challenges. While viewers at home watching Beast Games will remember the psychological twists, the monster trucks, and the private islands, the most enduring legacy of Beast City for the bulk of its residents will be the bonds we formed with other contestants in this Nuketown lookalike. As many would remark on Instagram or in groupchats afterwards “other people just won’t understand what it was like.” The bubble we lived in helped us become friends faster. I predict that these creator-led living experiences will get longer and support more people. It’s now very feasible that 1,000 people who follow a certain creator online could live in the same place for a whole year. BTC closed green again on Thursday, but I still read this market as caution, not confidence. The lower wick to $73,309 helped the candle, but daily RSI pushed overbought at 70.76 while printing lower highs than both April 11 and March 16. On the 4-hour, I still do not see the clean bearish reversal signal I would normally want, and that is exactly why this price action feels so weird to me. Price looks propped up, not strong. Ethereum is showing the same kind of weakness. ETH has now spent five straight days failing to close above TBO resistance at 23.76, and I still think a pullback toward the Fast line near 22.26 makes more sense than a clean breakout. At the same time, BTC dominance dropped hard, stablecoin dominance also moved lower, and alts exploded across the board. Normally that would sound bullish, but this move looks too aggressive and too suspicious for me to trust. OTHERS, TOTALE50, and TOTALE100 all ripped higher in a way that feels more like rotation, short squeezing, or outright exit-pump behavior than healthy trend continuation. TradFi is not making me feel any safer either. DXY confirmed a pivot low and now looks ready to move higher toward the open gap, which would add more pressure on USDJPY and keep macro conditions hostile. ES futures printed a fresh all-time high, the Nikkei also pushed higher, and Tesla ripped, but volume has been fading on the move, which makes the rally look unstable to me. Oil still has an upside gap that may need filling, gold is chopping inside the cloud, and uranium just broke out above its bull flag. On my watchlist, I’m focused on the charts that pumped hardest into resistance and now look the most vulnerable if this move fades, including XRP, BNB, SOL, LINK, SUI, ENA, LDO, INJ, FIL, AAVE, PENGU, PUMP, VIRTUAL, ADA, APT, HYPE, Binance Life, RAVE, Monad, Render, CHZ, XLM, SIREN, CFX, ZBCN, PIPPIN, and WAL. ‼️Turning Point Action Is Now Abusing the DMCA Copyright Takedown Process to Silence a Journalist Who Refuses to Stop Asking Questions About Charlie Kirk’s Assassination First they tried to drown me out with bots and their network of paid influencers. When that failed, they sent multiple Cease & Desist letters trying to scare me into silence. When that failed, they resorted to filing repeated, frivolous DMCA copyright takedowns in a clear attempt to get my account banned. Here’s the full timeline: Right after Charlie was assassinated, I put a photo of him as my profile picture as a memorial. Charlie was one of the biggest reasons I started this channel. He was my role model. That original image was a Gage Skidmore photograph that had been published under an irrevocable Creative Commons license. For those who don’t know: when a photo is released under Creative Commons, the creator is giving the entire public permanent permission to use, share, and even modify that image without needing to ask for further permission. The license cannot later be revoked. Turning Point Action later claimed exclusive ownership of that photo, sent a Cease & Desist, and demanded I never use Charlie’s name, image, or likeness again. I rejected their overreach, replaced the image, and eventually switched to a completely AI-generated image of Charlie that has zero connection to the original photograph. My bio has clearly stated the entire time that the profile photo is AI-created and that this account is not affiliated with or endorsed by Turning Point. Despite that, they filed a DMCA copyright notice on July 29 and got my profile photo removed. I filed a counter-notice. They then filed a second, nearly identical DMCA copyright notice on August 3 against the brand-new, completely AI-generated image and got that one removed as well. I again submitted a counter-notice. I then reached out to X Legal Support, informed them of the full situation, and they reviewed it and stated in writing that my account is not in violation of their copyright policy. I sent Turning Point my own Cease & Desist laying out the facts and demanded they stop filing frivolous DMCA notices against my account and withdraw the two they had already filed, since X itself confirmed I was not in violation. You would think at this point they would realize their tactics are futile and give up. Instead, they refused to withdraw the notices, doubled down with even more aggressive language, and sent me a fourth Cease & Desist. They are still trying to claim ownership over a completely AI-generated image they do not own, and they are still trying to use the copyright system as a weapon to silence critical journalism. Charlie Kirk never would have used these tactics. He believed in free speech, open debate, and the right to question powerful institutions — including the ones that claim to speak in his name. The organization that now operates under his banner is doing the exact opposite: targeting one of the people who loved him and who refuses to stop asking what really happened to him. There are thousands of accounts across X that use Charlie’s image as their profile picture. Turning Point is not going after them. They are only going after the journalist who criticizes them. That tells you everything you need to know. If they get away with this against me, they will use the exact same playbook against anyone who says anything they don’t like. This is not about a photograph. This is about control and silencing dissent. Every single person who still cares about free speech needs to make it clear to Turning Point Action that this behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Tag them. Tag Elon Musk.
