I always find it humorous that Trump, in the 1970s, acquired the option on the West Side rail yards and offered to build a convention center there for $110 million, conditional on naming it after his family. When the city rejected his offer to name the building but selected his site in 1978, he received only a broker's commission for the land sale rather than a construction contract.  So, Trump sold the property on which the Javits Center, with its "glass ceiling", was built. Picking that building was bad juju from the start. 😂
