A message for Gript Media readers and subscribers.

Very sorry for you John. The accusation is vulgar. hurtful and targeted. However in this world of woke,it is one that you have absolutely no defence against, because the intended harm is now done. The more you attempt to struggle against that type of accusation, the more it gathers about you like quick sand, and pulls you deeper into a choking darkness. Twitter is hardly a place for advice, in these trying times for you and your family but I suggest you pull back from this and don't engage any further. It's not an admission of defeat its a recognition that the cards are marked and the game is rigged. Give me a shout if there's anything I can do. M

If the sex pest accusations are not true then you should be entitled to a whooper payout.

Gript is the only real voice holding the Govt and their cronies to any account...been a subscriber since it became possible to do so as I was happy to support such endeavours, long abandoned by their more mainstream counterparts. You played a big part in that effort John, and thanks for that service to the wider civil society...truly disheartening to witness it seemingly start to fray and come asunder. I suppose there is a certain inevitability towards knocking heads when such strong personalities come together... I'll maintain my gold membership for a time in the hopes that Gript doesn't founder...we need good, strong efforts that can confront head-on the outright beligerence, disdain, and downright dereliction from recent Govts, and I hope those remaining at Gript can hold tight the helm to right the ship again... This is all very disappointing. Based on everything that has been made public so far, I think you have been wronged John, and in the most sinister manner. So many of us are grateful for the work of @griptmedia which wouldn't have existed if it weren't for John McGuirk.

Not all, but some women are a danger in the workplace. Your story reminds me of the UCC bat sex controversy. One male academic engaged in banter with a female colleague, who he considered a good friend, over the fact that no other animals appeared engaged in oral sex but humans. It all seemed to be good humoured until he found proof that fruit bats did. The female then filed a sexual harassment complaint, not because she was sexually harassed but because she had lost the argument. Women who appear jaunty and game for a laugh can pivot on nothing more than a change of wind direction to play the sex card. These women do not deserve to be taken seriously.

Fatima has been a key Gript reporter over the last couple of years. You were her boss. Now you are questioning her integrity. Do you also question her integrity in relation to the matters on which she reported and on which Gript editorial decisions were made.

I disagree with you frequently, John, but you appear to be a victim of abuse of process, at the very least. Onwards and upwards.

Gript and John did such wonderful work that was vital for the working class in Ireland I like both John and Fatima they done wonderful work. This is a nightmare situation and I am glad John can tell his side of the story. I will sub and still enjoy your work
