A Message from Barry Manilow about “Once Before I Go”

Fun story to relate about Mr. @barrymanilow, hopefully I get the details right as it was decades ago! Circa early 2000's, Mr. Manilow was buying a big screen TV at Circuit City in Palm Desert while I was working at, and I had assisted Mr. Manilow before in the store...but this time another associate was helping him. The sales representative was typing his information into the computer for delivery and couldn't read his last name as the letters on his American Express were I guess were worn off, so he asked him to spell his last name...to which he calmly replied "Manilow, M a n i lo w". The sales representative not hearing it properly once asked him again to spell his name again, as he apparently didn't know who he was, but this time Mr. Manilow responded: "Manilow, Barry Manilow. What do I have to fucking do sing Copacabana in your ear?" HA HA HA! Funny as fuck! I would have personally replied "No, but if you could sing a few bars of "Mandy" that would be great!" LOL!" (one of my favorite songs) Doubt if he remembers, but I do. :)

I miss my mom. You bring her back to me, when she was young and so was I. Thank you. 🫂🫶🏻
