It was an honour to chair this UK Lawyers For Israel Charitable Trust webinar with Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy-Levy and Olivia Flasch on the groundbreaking report "Silenced No More – Sexual Terror Unveiled: The Untold Atrocities of October 7 and Against Hostages in Captivity". "The UN was able to verify 31 cases of rape and sexual violence primarily in detention settings, but also at checkpoints and during military operations against 14 men, seven women, nine boys, and one girl from the Gaza Strip and the WestBank. This is part of a pattern of sexual violence against Palestinians, including as a form of torture. Violations consisted of rape, including rape with objects, gang rape, attempted rape, physical violence to the genitals, instances of targeted shooting of the genitals, touching of breast and genitals, strip and cavity searches conducted without apparent security justification, forced nudity, and threats of rape. Rape and gang rape were perpetrated against nine of these victims, with four suffering repeated rape on multiple occasions. Explicit threats were made by Israeli armed and security forced warning detainees not to report abuse to media or human rights organizations."

I dedicated my life and platforms to calling for the release of the hostages for 2 years. I stood in their homes after October 7. I hugged parents who hadn’t heard their child’s voice in months. I cried with survivors who lived through the unthinkable. And I promised: I will NEVER stop fighting for you. After 737 days, the last living hostages are finally home. But this is not the end. We will not stop fighting until ALL the remaining deceased hostages are back home for a proper burial. Because bringing them home is not the end…it is the beginning of healing, the beginning of memory turned into action, the beginning of a promise: We will carry their light, we will speak their names, and we will not rest until every soul is honored, and every heart begins to mend. 🙏🏻
