“What if I told you, a college athlete who admitted to betting thousands of times on sports, was actually the victim?” 30 for 30 presents… Double Down in Lubbock

Sorsby is not worth all of this

if you need to do this much PR you're probably the one that fucked up

Same energy

LMAO, Sorsby is on his third school. "wE sTaNd By OuR sTuDeNtS"

A 20-minute video explaining why their QB who illegally placed bets on games his team was playing in is totally cool to play this season...this might be one of the most tone-deaf and pathetic videos on the internet right now.

Cody Campbell in the background

@ESPNRittenberg This is pure garbage. Football is a privilege he lost that privilege by knowingly breaking the rules. You can do right by him by letting him get his degree. He has no business on a football field. Just admit you have no ethics.

It’s to late. The PR nightmare can’t be saved now. Good try.

If you have to release a 21 min video on X trying to justify your actions I'm gonna go out on a limb and say maybe you're wrong.

2 minutes in and it's already a mountain of bullshit. "Brendan broke the one rule everyone cares about but we're not going to enforce it."

All this for a 9-3 season is crazy.

Stopped listening 30 seconds into the President’s explanation…that’s all I could stand The same “the only way we can support Brendan is to let him play football” and “his football career would unfairly end if we didn’t” HORSESHIT

When you are in a hole you need to stop digging. Keep digging and you're going to find yourself without the ability to schedule non-conference games, and potentially be banned from any future realignment. No one's going to take you.

So back to the facts. An NCAA athlete bet $90,000 on professional and collegiate sports over four years, including his own team, that results in a permanent ban by the NCAA rule and these clowns want to rehab him and put him back on the field!? So wild.

How badly on the wrong side of things does a college administration have to be to release a 21 minute video 🤣

its sad how desperate this place is to matter

This explanation is the modern equivalent of Nebraska head coach Tom Osborne welcoming RB Lawrence Phillips back to his team after he beat the brakes off his girlfriend and threw her down a flight of stairs. "Lawrence needs football right now."

There’s not a chance in hell I’m watching a 22 minute video of you trying to convince us WE are somehow in the wrong for not wanting a quarterback who bet on football to be eligible to play… He’s not some Make-A-Wish kid, he’s a grown ass man. You’re all out of your GD minds.

This is so gross. Youre talking about a students medical diagnoses, and claiming this is the care that would be provided to any student in need. Everyone sees that for the crock of shit it is. If this was a 3rd string corner he'd be kicked off and forgot about.

Bunch of tortilla taints.

Texas Tech treating this like it's the plot of Jungle Book and they're refusing to hand Mowgli to Sher Khan

Don’t talk about integrity. He bet on football. The consequence is the loss of eligibility. That co sequence doesn’t go away because he says he won’t do it again. He should not play a down. It doesn’t matter if he has an “addiction.” That is not an excuse to justify betting on sports. I am very disappointed in the integrity of Texas Tech. Don’t hide behind helping the young man. You can help the young man while not letting him play. You can help the young man by allowing him the privilege of consequences. You don’t help the young man by allowing him to circumvent the consequences for his actions. Consequences that cost many others their senior seasons. Hunter Dekkers and Noah Shannon are two examples.

@TexasTechFB So proud to be an Alumni of this University. This moment is bigger than a QB throwing a football. We have the opportunity to provide wraparound care to a young man who made mistakes and are the best positioned to assist his journey towards recovery. Love Texas Tech! Wreck ‘Em!

Yall gonna put a DraftKings logo on the field?

This is one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen come out of a football program…..and just 8 months ago I watched my coach attack his mistress with butter knives

“Brendan made a mistake, and mistakes have consequences”. If you could please guide me to the reality where my consequences reward me 5 million dollars and basically zero penalty for my actions I would be very grateful.

There’s a golden rule in sports and it’s that there’s 0 tolerance for gambling on your own team. Get him all the help he needs but this is a downward spiral for college athletics if he plays in 2026.

“We need to support Sorsby, and the best thing for him is to suit up for us at quarterback.” 😭
