These creedists always shoot back with "but it doesn't say that" and then pretend the bible explicitly endorses their own creeds while blatantly ignoring plain language elsewhere in their own bibles. Most insufferable thing ever. You can't discuss the gospel in good faith with them.

More often than not, I find traditional Christian scriptural interpretations make symbolic the things we make literal, and make literal the things we make symbolic.

God speaks to us through His Word. He didn’t give Joseph Smith or anyone else, special revelations. The book of Mormon is not divinely inspired. Hebrews 1:1-2 (ESV) “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world." This passage highlights how God communicated through prophets in the past and now speaks through His Son, Jesus Christ. John 1:1 (ESV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

I watched the whole discussion and I personally believe you performed better in this format than with Dr. James White. You still need to learn how to answer a question directly, though, instead of shifting to analogies.

In the Bible who is the first and the last the Alpha and Omega? he has a good slant and twist to the truth which seems right but it is not... It'd be interesting to see the full context and how she answers him.

@ThoughtfulSaint The problem with these Mormons is they created a false god in their image, a man who is exalted to godhood, who had a Heavenly wife/mother etc who had all kinds of spirit babies (Jesus satan brothers) these people only think in human terms, when God is creator Not creation, us.

I thought this went well for you, Jacob. In fairness, she wasn't completely awful, and she did us a favor in a way by coming across as rather hostile and intolerant. You came across as a Christian. I liked it.

Are they willfully obtuse or can they honestly not comprehend the very simple concept of “oneness” between separate entities? They cling so tightly to this trope.

You can tell the commentors who have no open mind to learning something new, and only want to confirm their bias. Jacob explained this very well, with other references in the scriptures to why he believes this. Makes sense to me.

Jacob, long-time follower. Curious your take, did you feel Allie was condescending like so may of us? Some examples: Pressing you hard on points but never answering your questions back, “I have better news” moment, mischaracterizing your responses total “Cathy Newman” style, etc
