Black gamers have been playing as non-Black characters in games for so long and enjoy those games, us included. But there is nothing wrong with us also wanting us to be represented fairly and authentically in the medium. What we're finding here is these detractors don't want the exact same experience that Black gamers have had to endure for a majority of the history of gaming.

Tell ‘em how it is! We all see your work, your passion and your heart. Much respect.

You literally contradict your own message with this video. If games are for everyone and people can relate to any character on screen, then forcing diversity into the game isn't necessary. As for the "right way" to include diversity, focus on making a great game first and then add diversity. Don’t make diversity the central feature of the game.

I’m not saying about forcing anything. Point out where I said we should be forcing diversity in games. I’m simply saying that hearing stories from other backgrounds are good. I’ve had people say Zau is forced. I’m here making a game about my dead father, about the stories HE told me. About the stories I grew up with as a kid. How is that forced? I’m sharing my perspective, that’s all I’m doing here. Surely you can see that?

I consider raised by wolves to be one of the greatest sci fi series ever made, and immediately remarked that father and mother were the best acted androids I’d seen, I was mortified when it was cancelled. I can’t believe anyone would undermine your abilities! Pure racism!!
