Serious question for religious people - Why would a God allow a baby like this to be born?

This is fatal btw, abortion would've been the more humane solution instead of letting it suffer to death

A neonate born with a single central eye (cyclopia) and a proboscis is showing the most severe form of holoprosencephaly, a defect of midline brain and facial development. This striking malformation is most commonly associated with trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome), which also often includes cleft lip/palate, polydactyly, and congenital heart defects. Less commonly, similar severe midline defects can occur with trisomy 18 or triploidy, but cyclopia with proboscis is a hallmark of trisomy 13.

The chromosomal abnormality most likely responsible for this is Trisomy 13, also known as Patau Syndrome. Why Trisomy 13? Trisomy 13 is the most common chromosomal cause of holoprosencephaly. In this condition, the midline structures of the face and brain fail to develop properly. This results in: Cyclopia: A single central eye (or two partially fused eyes) in a single orbit. Proboscis: A nose-like structure located above the eye rather than in its normal position. Midline Clefts: Often involving the lip or palate.

I did little research now. This is cyclopia with a proboscis—a rare, severe birth defect where the eyes fail to separate into two orbits, forming a single central eye, and a tubular "nose" (proboscis) sits above it instead of a normal nose. It’s part of alobar holoprosencephaly (brain doesn’t divide into hemispheres). Most cases link to trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome), an extra chromosome 13. Nearly always fatal; most babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth.

Am so speechless, Cyclopia plus proboscis is equals severe holoprosencephaly, the hallmark brain and face defect in Trisomy 13. No other common chromosomal issue fits this presentation as cleanly. How do the parents cope after this.

It's cyclopia, a rare and severe congenital birth defect where a baby is born with one eye or two eyes joined together in the middle and that fleshy, horn like structure is proboscis. Stilling that baby will be the best decision

This is Patau syndrome, or Trisomy 13. It happens when the brain doesn't split into two sides like it should while the baby is growing. This affects how the face and eyes develop. While the physical appearance is startling, it is a rare and very delicate medical situation. It is an instance where the body's natural plan takes a different path, and it is a deeply difficult diagnosis for any family to face.

The presentation of a neonate with a single central eye (cyclopia) and a proboscis is characteristic of holoprosencephaly, a severe midline developmental defect. The chromosomal abnormality most commonly associated with this condition is trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome). Other features of trisomy 13 may include cleft lip/palate, polydactyly, congenital heart defects, and severe intellectual disability.
