This morning I moved to introduce a Bill to amend the Sex Discrimination Act to return the definition of man and woman to the Act. The Bill was designed to protect women’s sport and women’s spaces but Labor and the Greens wouldn’t allow it to pass into the second reading. Absolutely unbelievable but this issue isn’t going away! The bill would cap player compensation, but fails to address massive coach salaries, buyouts, or private equity. Actual college athletes have been left out of the process, so while the NCAA would get an anti-trust exemption, players wouldn't get a seat at the table. We talked to Stanford football players to learn more.
