Texas Lt. Gov Dan Patrick was just called out for his connections to private investors in the Texas Medical Marijuana Program! In an article published by the Texas scorecard, Lt. Gov Dan Patrick’s ties to lobbying group Blackmore were exposed, showing financial backers include companies invested in the TCUP (Texas Compassionate Use Program). These companies would financially benefit from a monopoly on the cannabis market in the state, but only if hemp was taken off the table. With the Lt. Gov even going as far to say that the medical marijuana expansion (HB46) was “worthless” without hemp derived THC being banned in Texas! “This reaction confirmed that Patrick’s THC Policy was designed not for public health, but to create market advantage for specific licensed operators”

Good news: The Senate voted to reject an attempt to strip the hemp ban delay out of the funding bill. A federal hemp ban would wipe out thousands of Minnesota jobs. Our farmers and small businesses are already following strong safety rules — a one-size-fits-all federal ban ignores that. This buys us time, and I’m not done fighting.

Kentucky regulates hemp responsibly—with age limits, serving sizes, and anti-fraud rules. Washington erased all of it with one blanket ban. Kentuckians believe adults should make their own choices. Federal law should too.

It’s been reported that the U.S. Hemp Roundtable is trying to carve out an exception for low milligram beverages in the federal hemp ban. We’ve seen similar things from beverage manufacturers in Texas, who also tried to cut a similar deal in the midst of SB3 this past year. One thing is clear, that you need to be absolutely sure about who your advocacy group really represents in this battle!

Elections in Tamilnadu are extremely dynamic & volatile. This was my conversation with a senior journalist on 13/2/2024. I had not visited Tirunelveli then. It was expected that Nainar Nagenthran would contest & BJP got 47% in that February 2024 Opinion Poll. By March when I ran the poll again BJP was polling 43%. By April it came to 41%. Exit Poll showed that DMK had changed the dynamics completely by bringing in all their Nadar leaders & whisper campaign had ensured that BJP lost. This is how elections happen in the state. The same people in a village near Nanguneri who were 100% confident of Nainar’s victory during Opinion Poll said they were not so sure when we went to the same village & spoke to same set of people during Exit Poll. This is the Complexity of TN elections. That’s why I am skeptical AwakeHindu (Top gun Pollster)

The hemp, because it was legalized nationally, they were selling it across state lines. You can order [hemp] through the mail across state lines until this law came about.
