Those visas are meant to be for a specific company, to do a specific job When they get laid off or fired, you would think they go back home.... They don’t. Instead they have been exploring a loophole to stay in America and browse around and apply for different jobs to stay in America The Trump Administration is closing that loophole. If they are no longer employed or lose their jobs, they must now go home or be deported What’s extremely shocking is over 90% of laid-off H-1B holders found new work in America and therefore were allowed to stayed Which is insane because that is not the job they were brought over to doshow more

Philosophically, there's nothing wrong with bringing in extremely talented foreigners to fill key jobs. However, there's a lot wrong with using H-1B visas to bring in foreigners because they will work cheaper than Americans, which is most of what it's really used for.

I was recently pulled into an interview where the first thing the H-1B did was remind us we would need to deal with their visa status. After being replaced by one years ago, it was a pleasure to add my no-vote to the whole irritating process.

Even crazier when you think that the job could have been taxpayer funded daycare for watching her own sisters kids and her sister has the same job watching her kids. Their entire existence here is funded by taxpayers and our government was actually in on it all. Treason!

The corporations complain, “There are not enough qualified citizens to fill our positions, so we must hire foreigners.” Then, these same corporations fire some, or most, of their existing, qualified, citizen-employees, and replace them with foreign-born, supposedly skilled employees, who are often trained by the outgoing citizens. My company is getting drowned in H1-B hires getting a job a level above me when they clearly are not highly skilled. A guy today literally asked how he requests to update his IDE and he’s definitely earning over $200K 🤦‍♂️ So sick of this bs

You really should look into how many H – 1B visas are given to people in schools. You would be surprised how many foreigners work in schools.

Ending the 60-day grace period won't have the desired impact on H-1B workers due to existing loopholes & visa transfer options. A laid off H-1B worker can file for B1 or F1 visa online on his last day. As long as B1/F1 application is pending, he can stay legally in US!!

Deport them all. Plenty of eligible STEM graduates here who need jobs!

I know couples on H1B/ H4-EAD getting laid off the same time and finding job immediately. Lots of H1B scam companies to provide safe-harbor to H1B holders.

Funny how Americans can’t get hired in this “terrible” job market, yet H-1Bs supposedly breeze into jobs within 60 days. Experienced workers and new grads are getting crushed while they’re apparently walking through the front door. Nothing suspicious here, right?

There are all kinds of loopholes: switch to a tourist visa. switch to a student visa. Then look for a job.

Has been going on for decades. Time Congress made it a law that employers who bring in visa workers be fined and i.prisoned for immigration fraud. Some company offices using H1Bworjers are empty. No one knows where those "workers" are. They call them ghost workers.

H1B abuse has been an issue for over 50 years. I saw it firsthand in the 70's.

Cruise ships dock in small Alaska towns. All the workers in jewelry and souvenir stores are all Indians from India. Needs to be investigated.

They would work for @DoorDash, @Uber or other gig jobs when they lose their jobs which is not allowed, heck some even work another jobs because most of their salary goes to the hiring manager or WITCH company.

The visa is for one job. After a layoff, many stay and hunt for another Washington wants that 60-day window gone.

I am so glad this is coming out … not to mention these H1-B holders buy their degrees and experience. I was a software engineer and saw this abuse firsthand cuz their work product was shit.

We need to deport every single non citizen.

End all visa programs.

End all foreign workers and if they hide just seek them out and deport them.

As a business owner, I will not even entertain an interview if they are H-1B I did once and got an ear full how THEY will tell me how MY business will work around their visa/immigration status and how they require multiple days off for their holidays and travel. In Trash can..
