The fight against cybercrime has entered a new and stronger global phase. Ghana joined 54 other countries in signing the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime during the Signing Ceremony and High-Level Conference which marks a major milestone in the world’s collective effort to combat cyber threats that know no borders. The signing was done by the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, who also delivered Ghana’s statement; reaffirming our nation’s strong commitment to international cooperation in the fight against cybercrime. For Ghana, this Convention strengthens our ability to collaborate internationally, access digital evidence more effectively, and enhance law enforcement capacity to investigate and prevent complex cybercrimes. It is a powerful step toward protecting citizens, businesses, and institutions in our digital ecosystem. It was also a privilege to meet the Director General of our own Cybersecurity Authority, Cybersecurity Authority team from Nigeria, the Ambassador of Burkina Faso in Vienna, Ghana’s Ambassador to Vienna and Ghana's Ambassador to Malaysia among other distinguished representatives, all united in our shared commitment to a safer digital world. The sixth meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Together with our partners, we supported the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war, stop the killings, and achieve a just and lasting peace. I am grateful to the partners for our shared position: the path to peace cannot be determined without Ukraine, and negotiations can only yield results if they take place under a ceasefire. I am also grateful for the active support of our state as long as Russia has not agreed to a ceasefire. I called on our partners to finance Ukrainian drone production to enhance our country’s defense capabilities and to join the new NATO PURL instrument for the procurement of U.S. weapons. During the meeting, we coordinated the next steps and agreed to continue working in close contact between Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States. I thank everyone who is working to bring this war to a just end.

The current blockages are purely political, and I am grateful to Germany for its support. The opening of clusters will certainly add momentum to progress across all areas of European integration and reforms. This should be the driving force for further joint work and coordination. A united Europe clearly has enough strength for this. I also shared the results of my visit to the Middle East and the system for protecting lives that Ukraine has offered to the countries of the region. We are ready to develop this kind of cooperation together with our partners in Europe who have stood with us from the very beginning.

Russia deliberately brings war into the New Year – launching more than two hundred attack drones against Ukraine overnight. Most of them were successfully shot down, and I thank all our warriors who repelled this attack. The strikes hit the Volyn, Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. The targets were our energy infrastructure. Wherever necessary, rescuers are providing assistance, and power engineers are restoring electricity after the strikes. I thank every person involved in responding to the aftermath. The killings must be stopped – there can be no pauses in protecting human life. If the strikes do not stop even during the New Year holidays, then air defense deliveries cannot be delayed. Our allies have the necessary scarce equipment. We need more of our joint production, more of our resilience, more coordination and effectiveness of our shared security architecture in Europe. The most significant thing we can achieve together is ending the war with a dignified peace and creating reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and for all of Europe – so that no one in Europe is afraid of being left without protection. During a meeting with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul, we discussed bilateral relations between our countries, as well as the situation in Europe and the Middle East. It is important that joint and coordinated actions strengthen the protection of life and help deliver greater security to people in every part of the world. We agreed on new steps in security cooperation. This primarily concerns areas where we can support Türkiye – expertise, technology, and experience. There is firm political readiness to work together, and our teams will finalize the details in the coming days. We discussed practical steps to implement joint projects in developing gas infrastructure, as well as opportunities for joint development of gas fields. I am grateful to the President and the people of Türkiye for their consistent support for our independence and territorial integrity. We value our close cooperation over all these years, which enables us to work on truly significant projects that can strengthen our entire region.
