"I thought it was a good play…I threw it too hard…chasing down ball, throw it off him…My homeboy said the Reds gonna be giving me a call––if y'all watching, invite me to spring training––yeah but it was no foul play intended" –– Desmond Bane on throwing ball at OG Anunoby

He’s kinda right and I made a video about it. While there were some hairy moments for Jiří, he was largely winning the initiative battle and leveraged it excellently towards the finish

What’s going on with Enzo? “One game he’s good, next he’s s**t!” “He was one of the most invisible players yesterday” “He got run past so many times” “He should play as a six and get on the ball, but managers don’t trust him defensively” Pys and Laurenz Vescoli on Enzo

A generous fan gave a dad of two boys a ball he caught, afterwards, the dad gave the ball to one of his boys and the son proceeded to chuck the ball back in the field of play. Dad tried to keep it cool but you knew he was pissed lol. Thankfully it was all caught on live TV and the A’s brought two new balls to the boys.

🇬🇭🇳🇬 A Nigerian man shares his funny “culture shock” moment in Ghana. He went to a Ghanaian shop asking for “floor” instead of “flour” and got confused when the shopkeeper said there was no floor for sale. He pointed to the ground and said, “But I can see the floor there.”

HILARIOUS: President Trump: “My children love soccer. My one son, very tall son, Barron loves soccer. He’s a good soccer player… I said, ‘When some guy gets by you from Spain, from Argentina, from France, Barron, what happens? From England?’ “He said, ‘Dad, I’m a very good ball handler.’ But I said, ‘Barron, if he’s faster what do you do about it.’ He said, ‘Dad, he’ll never get by me.’ I said, ‘But when he does.’ And he didn’t want to answer that question.”

Croatia was kicked out of the match because Matanic touched the ball with his hair AND the referee had to decide if Viega’s contact with the ball is considered “deliberate play”. If yes, the goal was correct, but the referee decided “no”. But what are the rules saying? In FIFA and IFAB Laws of the Game, deliberate play is when a player has control of the ball and attempts to pass, gain possession, or clear it. *‘Deliberate play’ (excluding deliberate handball) is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of: •passing the ball to a team-mate; •gaining possession of the ball; or •clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it) ➡️clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it) And that’s what Viega did. He cleared the ball. But a Croatian player managed to intercept the ball before it went out of play; that led to the goal. Croatia was robbed. Source in comments.

Look at this sweet ball control from Ugarte, which led to our winning goal. Ball so far in the air, he reads it, takes it down perfectly, makes the backheel pass, and we're 2-1 up. But tacticos said he wasn't good on the ball 😭🤣 WHAT A PLAYER!! 🔥❤️

This guy went to the gym to play some basketball. He left the gym for a little bit and when he came back he noticed that his basketball that was by his bag next to the wall was gone. He asks around and no one seems to know. But, there was a camera on there so he asks the guy if he could play the camera back to see who took the ball. And lo and behold they find the guy on the camera. 😳 The guy walks over by his bag, stands there for a bit and then quickly picks the ball up and walks away towards his bag. He acts casual like he’s watching, waiting to see if anyone will say anything. Then he starts to walk to the exit door still seeing if anyone is watching him. And then he exits. A basketball. He stole another man’s basketball. 🤯 You can get a basketball at Five Below for $5! 💯 Why would a grown man steal another person’s basketball? Does it make sense? What is going on in this world?

Dave Roberts said there was intent on Machado’s throw at their dugout “It was unsettling… Didn’t hit me because there was a net. If it was intended at me it’s disrespectful. I don’t know his intent… The ball was directed at me with something behind it”

Iran's as their last minute goal vs Egypt was overturned by VAR denying them a crucial victory that would have guaranteed an advancement out of groups. The player was in an offsides position when the ball was played by the original shooter so he cannot play the ball on the rebound. That is if there is a deflection. There is an exception: If a defending player deliberately plays or controls the ball (such as attempting a back-pass or a controlled clearance) and it falls to you, the offside is reset, and you can legally play the ball. That obviously doesn’t happen here. It’s a clear deflection and rebound in this play and isn’t the defense gaining control and sending it to the originally offsides player. It’s the right call by VAR. Same reason a penalty or free kick taker can’t hit the ball first if they hit the post.

Dermot Gallagher didn’t say the words “it was a penalty” but what he did basically say was if you’re a player and you’re inter-locking with a forward and your back is to the ball then you’re taking a massive risk and if a pen was given there can be no complaints.
