This man was camping alone, he decided to make a quick update video for his followers when he started noticing activity outside of his tent, he started hearing noises and screams that he couldn’t tell were from animals or not. He sat silent as he felt like he heard people walking outside his tent. But he never left his tent to investigate, he just sat there and waited until it went away. If he felt threatened as if something g or someone meant him harm, why would anyone in that position just stay put, wouldn’t you make an attempt to leave?

Back in Utah and back to grinding today. 3rd job of the day, this guy starts asking about the cost of my equipment. He then literally says “that feels irresponsible for a small busines don’t you think?” That annoyed me. Proceeded to do his $350 job in less than an hour. He was so shocked I was done that he started interrogating me about how many jobs I get done in a day. He didn’t like my answer. A lot of people really don’t like when their contractor isn’t poor.

Quentin Tarantino is such a good storyteller, that his own story of the day he decided to make film is gold. In his early-20s, he worked at a video store. His dream was to be a director but this job was “dream-adjacent”, which put his “real ambition to sleep”. It all changed when an older guy in his friend group — about 5 years older — turned 30 and suddenly became quite bitter about how he hadn’t achieved much in his 20s. Quentin and his friend would hang out and talk film but didn’t actually make anything. When Quentn turned 25, he realized he didn’t want to be like his friend at 30. So, he spent one night fully assessing the state of his life and decided he had to make a change. “I got to not worry about [this video store] job anymore,” he thought. “I just got to move to Hollywood and get involved and meet other people that are in the business.” He did and soon started getting writing gigs.
