A physics professor declared his experiment dead on TV and turned his back. 30 seconds later the steel tank crushed itself. Watch his face when he finds out. He had failed this trick before. Once in Uppsala, Sweden. Once on the previous episode of his own show. The setup...

Professor Julius Sumner Miller - his TV show was a must watch for me as a young boy and he was a man who inspired my fascination with science and the world in which I lived. Very fond memories of this bloke ...

I knew him as Dr Sumner Miller. He came to my school in Huntington Beach about 1970 and did demonstration with physics. I remember him vividly to this day

There is no telling how many people got into physics because of that guy. Used to watch him on PBS.

He was soooo cool to watch when I was a kid. Imagine how lucky you were having him as a physics teacher. 😎👍🫡 Remember the egg being sucked into the milk bottle! 🍼

I broke a microwave oven and tripped the circuit breaker in our kitchen performing a variation on this experiment in the late 90s. My now ex-wife was not impressed. The implosion actually blew the door of the microwave open when the plastic bottle collapsed. Don’t ask me how. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A car owner used to service his own car to save money on service costs. After some time, his car’s engine started overheating again and again. Even after driving the car a short distance, the engine would become extremely hot and problems started developing in the engine, even though he was also putting coolant in his car. When the engine finally got damaged, he took his car to a mechanic. When the mechanic checked the car, he found that the owner had filled the engine coolant into the wrong tank instead of the coolant tank. He had filled it into the tank where the water for cleaning the car’s front windshield is kept. Then, when he turned on the wipers, all the coolant was sprayed onto the car’s front windshield through the pressure of the water motor. This was the reason his car kept overheating and the engine got damaged, because the coolant had been sitting in the windshield-washer tank instead of the coolant tank. When the mechanic checked the engine, he found that it had been completely damaged due to repeatedly overheating. Now, the car owner will have to spend a huge amount of money to get the engine repaired. The car owner wanted to save a little money by servicing his car himself, but because of that, he ended up damaging the entire engine of his car. That is why you should never do something without knowledge. You should not try to become an expert at everything you have never done before, because it can lead to a huge loss.

The cold is British. They just never told you. ❄️🇬🇧 Every air conditioner, every fridge, every freezer on earth, the cold inside all of it was first made by a Scotsman. In 1756. ❄️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 His name was William Cullen, a doctor in Edinburgh. In a warm room, with no ice and no winter, he drew the air from a glass of ether until it boiled cold and drank the heat from the water around it, until the water froze. No one had ever done it before. Then he wrote it down and walked away. No machine, no patent, no fortune. Just the proof, on a bench. It sat there the better part of a century. A British bench built the first machine that worked, and a Scot carried it across the world to Australia, where it froze meat and cooled beer. But cold was only half the story. ❄️📖 To master the air itself took another Scot. When the Houses of Parliament burned down in 1834, David Boswell Reid made the new building breathe, its gothic spires its lungs. At St George's Hall in Liverpool in 1851 he built what is often called the first air-conditioned building on earth. It should have made him. He died forgotten in America instead. 40 years on, Willis Carrier built the machine and earned his name as the father of modern air conditioning. He earned every bit of it. But he did not make the cold. The cold was British. America took that inheritance and cooled the world with it, and that is no theft. That is what an inheritance is for. We are the home of British heroes. Not built by ads, not by the government, built by us. There's a place for you with us. Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

Imagine, a taxpayer father stood in the cold and watched his taxpayer son die, for two hours. Not suddenly. Not instantly. But slowly, minute by minute, while his voice echoed in the dark. “Papa, please save me.” 27-year-old Yuvraj Taxpayer Mehta was alive. He was standing on the roof of his car, trapped in a water-filled pit in Greater Noida. He had survived the crash. He had the strength to climb up. He had the presence of mind to call his father. And the father came running. What he saw when he reached the spot will haunt him for the rest of his life. A car sinking. Cold, black water rising. His son was visible. Shivering. Calling out. Police were there. Officials were there. Rescue forces were informed. And yet, for two hours, nothing happened. The father pleaded. The son screamed. Time passed. The car kept sinking because the pit, a massive construction hole left open without barricades, lights, or warnings, had been waiting there like a death trap. Low visibility did the rest. Yuvraj had not driven recklessly. He had driven into the government's negligence. As his father watched, helpless, his dear boy slowly disappeared under the water. The authorities refused to help because "water was too cold", "they were scared of iron objects in the water", they didn't have proper equipment". So the state stood still. This is the reality of our country. In the end, it was not a uniformed officer who acted. It was a delivery agent named Moninder, who could no longer bear to watch. He jumped into the pit on his own. By then, it was too late. The car and the boy had disappeared into dark silence. Ask yourself, was this an accident? Was this his fate? It was a chain of human decisions: - to leave a pit open, - to ignore safety, - to wait instead of act, - to choose fear over duty. A father watched his son die that night, not because help was impossible, but because help was delayed until courage arrived too late. We must ask ourselves something painful, when a citizen can die in full view of the system, crying for two hours, and still be abandoned what exactly are we paying the taxes for? Just to fund the luxurious life of politicians in power and government officials? The boy's dead body was pulled out the next morning.
