The system is set to hit the California coast late Tuesday, with torrential rain developing across Southern California early Wednesday and continuing through the evening. The Weather Prediction Center has issued a Level 4 of 4 high risk for flooding rain on Wednesday, impacting nearly six million people. Gov. Gavin Newsom has mobilized state resources ahead of the storm. Los Angeles County has issued evacuation orders and warnings for areas in and around recent burn scars due to the risk of flooding and debris flows. Evacuation warnings are also in place for parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Another storm is expected to arrive Thursday and continue into Friday, adding to concerns as the week unfolds.
