A powerful way to read your Bible👇

New Testament > Old Testament > New Testament again. Prepare for your mind to get absolutely rocked upon going back through the NT. That’s when all the fun little “nuggets” begin to click. Like: - Moses and Elijah on the mountain with God, and then realizing that that was happening at the same time as the transfiguration. - Isaac carrying wood on his back being led to his sacrifice right up until God said “no, use that ram over there instead” - and then realizing that was telling the story of Jesus wayyyy before He was born. - Isaiah 53 hits 10x harder after reading the NT. The entire OT is telling of Jesus’ incoming arrival. It is absolutely mindblowing.

Pastor Josh we discussed this in the lobby about 5 years ago. You inspired me. Then I read NT, OT, NT, OT each pass through is a whole new universe of revelations I don’t think I will ever stop reading it. It is beyond impossible for anyone but God to have written the Bible.

Your little nuggets constantly remind me how BLESSED we are to live in the time we do. I cannot believe there are people still denying Christ with all the evidence and knowledge they have access to today. 1000 years ago, I could see some skepticism. Today? No, brother. No excuses

That's what I'm currently doing. I read John first and now I'm back to the beginning. Should I read any other books in the new testament before going back to the old?

I have a Holman study Bible. At the end of Luke they have a page that goes into this and gives you the OT passages.

If you read it in order you won’t come to Jesus.

I’ve just built exactly this plan. Ran 31,000 Bible verses through embeddings, built a graph, and let the math decide the reading order through meaning. It starts at Luke 24 and finishes the entire NT by day 87. The OT arrives as backstory: in the light of the cross, not before it. Plan ends in Hallelujah Psalms. Psalm 22 lands the same day as John 19. No one told it to do that. 👀

It is bad when your god is not "god enough" to tell his believers "how to read the Bible" that he should get other humans to do it!

Jesus is there from the beginning. Its an amazing book once you learn how to read and understand it. I can hardly wait for Bible study class each week and then contemplate (and reread it) on it until the next class.

I just finished Luke 24. I remember thinking they must've sat for a while as He revealed how those scriptures were about Him. Their eyes were finally opened and they could finally see it. Reading through my Bible this year has been enlightening. And yes, I can recognize them 2!

Jesus wasn’t a descendant of anyone other than God. This was proven by how He was brought to this earth.
