A pretty darn solid first pitch at the Reds game tonight by Daniil Medvedev, who has become a bona fide Reds fan, improbably. (Also, good work by the various video folks covering this moment to blur out the unwanted logo on that jersey…)

#Reds Emilio Pagan appeared to potentially injure himself on the final pitch of the game tonight. Something to monitor. Edit: Apparently it’s a potential hamstring injury according to early reports.

Picture this... It's a rainy April night... The game has entered a rain delay... A video appears on the scoreboard... And all feels right.

7 months ago the Reds made a very public pitch to sign a hometown kid and massive slugger Kyle Schwarber. He decided to re-sign with Philadelphia, it was reported the Reds couldn’t meet the price and Schwaber was weary on the Reds plan to compete. Fast forward 7 months to present day, Kyle Schwarber is leading the league in home runs, the Phillies are 50-41 and Kyle Schwarber blasted a home run 200 MPH in his first game in Cincinnati this year. The Reds on the other hand are in the midst of one of the more disappointing season of my lifetime (30 years old) and are having their broadcast openly promote neon yellow shirts that were handed out at the game tonight so people can take them off, wave them around over their head, and leave them on the ground as they trot out of the stadium watching their Reds fall to 41-49.

Tarik Skubal credits Will Smith for his game calling last night that allowed him to pitch 7 shutout innings on only 90 pitches versus the Reds: "Honestly, a lot of that's Will. I trust him with calling every pitch. I think I shook him one time tonight. We're in pretty good rhythm." Via SportsNet LA

Terrific running catch by Myles Straw B4 on this 100 mph rocket by Caleb Durbin, who had a hit stolen by the centre-fielder in the first, too. Straw also flew out to RF in a 14-pitch AB T3 that advanced Andres Gimenez to third, allowing him to score on a George Springer sac fly.

Took Zak to his first Cincinnati Reds game in years and we were greeted with the best game of the year!! Elly is so special-just does things that few can do. This was his triple to get the cycle-1st for the Reds since ED in ‘89. So cool to see the energy in what has been an awful home field for YEARS-city is falling in love with this young team and it’s incredible to see. Sorry the video is so bad we were going crazy and trying to film it. 12 in a row!!!!! 12!!!!! And beating good teams! This team plays the game the right way..and EVERYONE is contributing. It’s awesome!! Thanks for a great night RedLegs-Zak had a blast.

From Disney darling to one of fashion’s most undeniable forces watching Zendaya come into her own has been a masterclass in evolution. The clothes may get us talking, but it’s the woman wearing them who makes the moment. Happy birthday to this talented bona fide fashion icon.

Zack Wheeler needed just 16 pitches to complete the first 3 innings tonight. That's the fewest pitches thrown by a starter through the first 3 innings of a game since at least 2000!

Had a great time at the Grizzlies game tonight and saw Yuki’s first three. Awesome moment. The crowd went nuts. So fun. My friend Greg Greg Goodman caught the video — I was laser-focused on the game :)
