Ren Susu, to me, is like a candle in a dark room. She was never afraid of giving people warmth, even if every act of kindness meant another piece of herself melted away. She spent so much of her life becoming light for others that she never noticed she was slowly disappearing. By the time everyone thank her for her glow, there was barely anything left of her. Love, happiness, and peace all feel temporary to her, as though they were never meant to belong in her life for long. So instead of waiting for fate to take them away, she lets go first. It isn’t because she doesn’t love deeply. It’s because she believes the people she loves would be safer without her. She is brave. She has never hesitated to do what she believes is right, even when it demands impossible sacrifices. Like Qingyi, she has an incredibly strong sense of justice, and she spends much of her life living for other people too. The difference is that Qingyi learned to give because he believed love had to be earned, while Susu learned to sacrifice because she believed her own happiness always came at someone else’s expense. She doesn’t put herself last because she is naturally selfless. She does it because she no longer believes she should come first. When she learns that Qingyi’s tendons were severed by the Huo family. She quietly asks herself, “What if, back then, I had pretended not to know you?” I think that single line tells us everything about how her mind works. There are endless what ifs inside her head. Little by little, those questions begin to erase the person she used to be because she genuinely believes that every tragedy suffered by the people she loves somehow starts with her. When something terrible happens, most of us instinctively ask, “Who did this?” Susu asks something entirely different, “What if I hadn’t done this?” She doesn’t look outward for someone to blame. She turns inward first. Every accident becomes her responsibility, every loss becomes evidence that she should have made a different choice, and every sacrifice someone makes for her becomes another reason to believe she only brings misfortune into other people’s lives. That’s why she keeps pushing Qingyi away. It was never because she didn’t love him. She loved him too much. She simply believed that loving her meant suffering because of her. In her eyes, she is a burden. A jinx. Someone whose existence inevitably invites tragedy. How could she allow the person she loves to stay beside her when she truly believes staying will only destroy him? Susu carries guilt in a way that borders on unbearable. It feels like survivor’s guilt taken to its absolute extreme. She takes responsibility for things that were never hers to carry and wears them as though they are debts she will spend the rest of her life repaying. One of her defining traits is that she constantly chooses to be misunderstood. She would rather let people resent her than watch them get hurt because of her. If becoming the villain in someone else’s story means they get to live, she will accept that role without ever trying to explain herself. To her, being hated has always felt more bearable than watching someone she loves pay the price for staying by her side. I think a lot of that can be traced back to her childhood. When she enters the orphanage, survival becomes the only thing that matters. It teaches her a lesson that feelings are a luxury, but survival comes first. In a place where every day is about making it through tomorrow, there is very little room for vulnerability. You learn to suppress your own needs because everyone around you is already struggling to survive. It isn’t difficult to imagine how someone raised in that environment would grow into an adult who constantly chooses everyone else before herself. That’s exactly who Susu becomes. Every decision she makes revolves around protecting someone else. For Qingyi. For Fang Mulan. For the girls. For her family. For Uncle Fang. For everyone except herself.

🚨 “HOLY COW, I CAN BREATHE.” HER STAGE 4 OVARIAN CANCER UPDATE AFTER 6 DAYS ON FENBENDAZOLE Stage 4 ovarian cancer had returned. And she describes this recurrence as super aggressive, moving quickly through multiple areas of her body. Her cancer was reported in or around the: • Omentum • Colon • Liver • Stomach lining • Behind the heart • Esophagus • Behind the diaphragm • Fluid around the lungs • Top of the breastbone The inflammation became severe. 🫁 BREATHING BECAME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT She says breathing had already been difficult for months. But during the last month, it became much more intense. She says she could barely speak without becoming completely out of breath. Taking just a couple of breaths could leave her struggling. ⚡ She also describes experiencing massive electricity shooting through her stomach and everything. 🔥 THEN CAME DAY 6 She had been told that chemotherapy could potentially reduce some of the inflammation during the first few weeks. She was told that during the first three weeks, she could potentially start feeling less inflammation if chemotherapy was working. But six days into starting her Fenbendazole protocol, she says she noticed a major difference. 📆 DAY 6 📉 Way less inflammation 🫁 She could breathe again ❤️ She started feeling more normal Her words: “Holy cow, I can breathe.” And this wasn't a small change for her. She says: “I literally felt like I was dying.” She describes lying in bed thinking she was dying because each day brought a new symptom and things kept getting worse. ⚡ THE PAIN WAS STILL THERE This wasn't a story where every symptom disappeared. She still had sharp, keeled over stomach pains that she describes as uncontrollably aggressive. But she noticed an important change. Previously, she says the pain could happen throughout the day, sometimes every five minutes. Now, she says it was more typically happening: 🌙 Toward the evening 🍽️ When she ate She says she was still dealing with significant pain, but she was also seeing a lot of improvement in her symptoms. 🧠 WHY WAS THE PAIN SO SEVERE? She explains that her cancer was laying across areas involving major blood vessels and the vagus nerve. She says this could send pain from the top of her head all the way down toward her: • Pelvis • Groin area Her description of the experience? “Kind of brutal.” ❤️ ANOTHER POSITIVE UPDATE She says her port was healing somewhat. It still didn't feel the best. But she says it was definitely getting better. Then came her strongest statement about Fenbendazole. 💊 “I NOTICED A HUGE DIFFERENCE WITH FENBENDAZOLE.” She says: “I really am kind of putting my money on that one guys.” Then she explains why. She says: “Not chemo because it didn't work. That's why I'm back here.” For her, the improvement she describes after starting Fenbendazole became the reason she was putting her confidence in it. 🔥 THE BIGGEST TAKEAWAY This wasn't a claim that everything disappeared. It's a story about what she says she personally experienced. 📆 6 DAYS INTO HER FENBENDAZOLE PROTOCOL ↓ 📉 Less inflammation ↓ 🫁 Easier breathing ↓ ❤️ Feeling more normal ↓ 📉 Pain episodes became less frequent And her simplest description says it all: “I can breathe again.” Experiences like hers continue to generate interest in Fenbendazole, drug repurposing and cancer research. And her story isn't finished. She's continuing her journey and documenting what happens next. My daughter and I spent some time outside to test out our new sled. She asked me to record her now and again in a couple months to see her progress. She gave me permission to share a clip of her using the sled. This is what we call "Backyard PT." This is why we bought this sled. This is why we're doing everything we can for her. We've had many days of setbacks, but watching her push forward despite those setbacks and watching her progress has been very humbling. She wants to live. To think, just 8 months ago, we thought she was going to die. She weighed 85lbs. No body fat and barely any muscle mass. She couldn't see, couldn't chew food, her organs were damaged, her gut wasn't working, her hands were too shaky and weak to give herself insulin, she couldn't even hold a 2lb water bottle or a plate of food. She could barely get out of bed without help. She couldn't even safely walk around the house. She had multiple falls. One that split open her chin and knocked out a couple of teeth, and one that resulted in a broken tibia. She needed a wheelchair just to get around the house. Just 3 months ago, she was still using a wheelchair but gradually transitioned to a walker with a seat. Today, she still uses a walker for doctor's appointments or going to the store, and she sometimes uses it to get around the house if her BP is low. But, she now weighs 113lbs. When her BP is good, she can walk slowly around the house with no assistance. She just uses the walls, counters, and furniture for stability if she needs it. Even though her PCP wants her to continue going to PT, she has already used up the maximum amount that her insurance covers, so now she's doing PT at home. She puts 2.5lb-5lb weights around her ankles for when she walks around the house. She's been going outside and trying to workout with our weightlifting equipment. This week, we bought this sled as a way for her to strengthen her legs and calves while giving her something to hold for stability and reducing her risk of injury or falls. We have noticed that strengthening her legs and calves has been a big help with her hypotension issues. Day #1 has already shown us that this was a good purchase. The best thing about this sled is that we can all use it. It has resistance modes 1-3. The faster it's pushed, the more resistance it has. We can add weights to it. Up to 270lbs. It's easy to turn, especially for someone like her who needs to start off with something extremely light and easy to use. We had fun with this yesterday. I first took it up and down our street, about 1/2 mile, pushing as fast as I could on resistance #1. The faster I pushed and more force I used, the more resistance I felt. Then, I brought it to our backyard and went back and forth pushing hard on #3. Then, she came outside and we spent almost an hour taking turns going back and forth. She first used resistance #1, then tried switching it to #2. She could definitely feel the difference. I would say that she's now all set up for some good Backyard PT. It took 8 months to get here. I can't wait to see where she'll be at in another 8 months 💪
