True, if the primary wealth of America was strictly based on cotton, sugar cane, and pitchpine; but, there were fisherman, lumber, iron and steel, copper, oil, gold, wheat, barley, corn, cattle, sheep, automobiles, airplanes, medicine and a thousand other things that made America great. There were people of African descent who were involved in all,of these to a small extent to be sure, but to say that they were the driving force in any of these other industries would be much more than debatable - it would be absolutely false.

Slavery didn't work as an economic system. It was horribly inhumane. It held back the Southern economy and made the South much poorer than the North. Slaves contributed, but those contributions did not develop the primary wealth of America.

It was built on the backs of whites as well…. and Asians and Irish. Etc. etc.
