you need to understand that rain isn't the problem. it's the spray

To be fair, the first half of the race was under safety car because of the rain.

I know, it's wild! Rain races are honestly some of the most exciting ones to watch. It completely changes the strategy and you get to see who the truly skilled drivers are. So much chaos and drama, I love it!

You must have missed the hour that they rode around behind the safety car . Then red flagged the race for another 45 min because everybody got confused when they swapped the safety cars because it needed fuel .

Maybe, just maybe it has something to do with the fact the the cars aren't open wheel and produce down force in a much different way

I don’t think anyone thought this was impossible. Both NASCAR and F1 drive in the rain

On Polish commentary they dissed F1 like 10 times that „those idiots wouldn’t drive in a conditions like these”. And they are not wrong

Erm….🫤….last year at Le Mans there was a continuous 4.5 hour safety car period for heavy rain. In this race they had 1.5 hours of safety car followed by a red flag because they messed up a safety car swap.

Only retarded people compare an open wheel car with ground effect aero to a LMP with lights, wipers, reduced aero, closed wheels and half the power of the F1

Literally every road course series races in the rain? Including NASCAR road course races, where did you get the idea that this was impossible?

Says much about the quality of the current Formula 1 grid. Also, the replies in recent driver interviews about racing in the rain, correlated with their stats, are very telling.

They don't seem to be able to drive that good in the rain in your video, they also don't have open wheel cars, that's the main issue.

Tbf look at diffrance of the spray

WEC cars produce significantly less spray than F1 cars, and do not spray it as hard or as high. In addition, they have windscreen wipers to improve visibility and are better illuminated.

Yes, it is possible, since WEC is better than F1!☝🏻😃

Totally not surprising. Water spraying is much reduced in closed wheel cars.
