I rarely criticize anyone from RW but the sectarian/parochial mindset some people here have needs to be called out. Rajagopalan Krishnan will ignore Malayalam films where beep eating scenes with Tyagaraja Kriti in the BGM is shown, but will hate only Tamil films.

Scanners (1981) 🤯 A very early treatment from 1976, entitled “Telepathy 2000,” takes place in the future, begins with the protagonist (who is named Harley Quinn) telepathically raping a woman in a subway, and is set as a spy movie. In this version, a company called Cytodyne Amalgamate was breeding evil Scanners to take over the world, and the U.S. government was employing good Scanners to stop them. David Cronenberg originally penned a treatment for a sci-fi story titled “Telepathy 2000” (also occasionally referred to as The Sensitives) in the early 1970s, following the release of his 1975 film Shivers.
