@ScriptingJapan

@ScriptingJapan Dogen’s video is funny because there a popular game in Japan where you have to describe things without using any loan words, and most people lose after one turn 😅

@ScriptingJapan I get the attempt at a joke. He did it better years ago.

@ScriptingJapan Professors wouldn’t recognize a joke if it smacked them in the face. Too busy making sure everyone knows they’re a PhD holder and telling X where they were published last

@ScriptingJapan Dogen was having a laugh. The old man Japanese humor in his video was blatantly apparent. I guess this guy is just trying to put out content, but there was nothing wrong with Dogen’s video. If you’ve got a sense of humor, it was enjoyable.

@ScriptingJapan I liked the part with the neo-Nazi comparison

@ScriptingJapan Dogen’s video is intelligent, funny, and non-academic. Dr. Robertson’s reply is, I think, both politically, and academically, a bit over the top. Loan words strategies are a fascinating topic, treated too simplistically in both essays. Also, why is so much politics hidden here.

@ScriptingJapan Appreciate the clarification on this

@ScriptingJapan I like the Dogen video, but I enjoyed this criticism too. Good stuff man interesting points

@ScriptingJapan I sometimes like @Dogen’s content and message… I am just dead curious if he’s as nasal-sounding in English 🤔

@ScriptingJapan Yeah I get the humour of the video, but Dogen isn’t just a comedian, he’s also presenting himself as an educator so we should be holding him to account more on this stuff. Also big W for the George Carlin mention

@ScriptingJapan just say you want to promote globalism and call it a day...

@ScriptingJapan Dogen's argument is on a level you simply don't understand, bolero. The chuds are rising.

@ScriptingJapan Just wanna point out the Yawara Manga collection.
