They have not recognised how far the debating ground of British politics has moved to the left over the last thirty years. Where the left stood yesterday, the centre stands today. Yet the British people haven't moved with it. Instinctively they know that we have to pull this country back to the real centre again. But the anxious say to us, “You really cannot do everything at once. The recession and the international economic situation make things particularly difficult. Why not adapt your approach a little, give in for the time being, till things are getting better and then you can start again after the election, next election when you have longer time to do it?” Mr. President, to do that would be a betrayal. People in Britain have grown to understand that this government will make no false promises, nor will it fail in its resolve. How can a government urge the people to save and build for tomorrow if the people know that that same government is willing to bend and trim for the sake of votes today? That's not trusting the people, and it is not the way to be trusted by them. Nothing could be more damaging to our prospects as a nation if this government were to throw away the reputation it has earned for constancy and resolve. It would throw away three years of hard-won achievement. On what moral basis would we be entitled to ask for the nation's support next time? Mr. President, the only way we can achieve great things for Britain is by asking great things of Britain. We will not disguise our purpose, nor betray our principles. We will do what must be done. We will tell the people the truth and the people will be our judge.

So, we are told that the mortal enemies of the people who have launched the biggest propaganda campaign in history on the United States in order to garner support for and justify their crimes against those very people are our greatest threat… Then, coincidentally as that campaign loses steam and the US wakes up to what that country is doing, these attacks take place all by this same group of people who have been and continue to be our boogie man… Even though so much of what they have “done to us” has weirdly coincidental strange ties to the country behind that propaganda campaign I mentioned… But still, we continue to be told that is the threat and the answer is more surveillance, more control and more government overreach… And we believe this? We need FULL transparency on the rape gangs, urgently - I've been pushing for that in Parliament today. Will they release the court transcripts? How many foreign rapists have been deported? Remain in prison? Walk the same streets as their victims? Reoffenders? Didn't serve a custodial sentence? A full nationality breakdown? My questions to Government so far have been met with complete refusals. I put this to the Home Secretary. I will be judging the Government on their actions, not on their words. This is a rotting stain on our country. Show us the ugly truth.
