I watched this three years hence (almost exactly) to supplement reading of the Oresteia of Aeschylus. Thank you for the reminder. I feel the greek plays calling to me.

@bronzeagemantis These are the most kino performances I have watched in my life. It's such a shame the audio on Libation Bearers is garbage.

@bronzeagemantis Lots of things one can say about this production. I believe it conceived under very fortunate alignment of stars. Wonderful effect of masks and physical performances, I also love the musicality of it. Odd & effective lyrical inventions (man-lord, she-child, god-sop, etc).

“All Cretans are liars” is a hilarious Paulian quote when you realize who the Ashk really are.

Paul was quoting Epimenides.

I watched this years back. Pure kino. Their version of the Oresteia is great too.

"I was tending... - Odysseus&co get trapped in the cave of Polyphemus, a giant Cyclops. After this eats some of O's men, O devises a clever escape plan. He gets P drunk on wine n tells him that his name is "Nobody." P falls asleep, O&co stab him in the eye, blinding him....
