An 18-year-old TikToker named Swhileyy posted a video on March 31 sprinting through a Scientology building. It hit 90 million views. He's since tried to distance himself from what followed. I wanted to weigh in on this recent trend of people running into Scientology buildings, causing chaos, and posting the videos on social media. Whether these people are doing it for social media clout or to genuinely expose the abuses of Scientology, what they are doing is unhelpful, and by engaging in these actions, they are unwittingly helping Scientology. I want as many people as possible talking about the dangers and criminality of Scientology. But I spent decades on the other side of this, and if I had been confronted by people running through Scientology buildings and harassing me or staff, it would have pushed me further into Scientology. That is because Scientologists are deeply indoctrinated and radicalized and believe they are helping people. They have been brainwashed over many years into believing the outside world is filled with chaos and criminality, and that their mission, one they believe they are on through countless lifetimes, is to help eradicate this chaos. If someone is brainwashed for years into believing the outside world is filled with dangerous lunatics who wish to impede Scientology, a group of people running through a Scientology building is only going to confirm that belief and lead them to dedicate themselves even more to the cause they believe in. Mike Rinder and I discussed this on our podcast Fair Game: Scientologists, in particular Scientology Sea Org members, have a level of dedication and radicalization to Scientology that surpasses that of a jihadist terrorist. Running through a building is not going to break that or lead them to reconsider what they’ve given up their entire lives for. I also want to note that any Scientology building that someone is allowed to easily enter from the street is not a building where someone like David Miscavige or any senior Scientology executive is going to be. People at that level of Scientology’s criminal leadership will be behind gates and many layers of security. Please focus on exposing the dangers of Scientology, not making a spectacle out of it.

NEW: Florida police release bodycam footage of the arrest of a Florida Uber driver who pulled a gun on a passenger. 23-year-old Jennifer Benitez was heard telling officers how to do their job while she was being arrested. Miami rapper Krissy Celess says she was in an Uber from Miami to Hollywood when Benitez threatened her with a gun. Celess says Benitez pulled the gun after she commented on her "crazy eyes." Benitez was charged with one count of aggravated assault. Uber has since axed Benitez and says they are investigating the incident.

It’s worth noting that her comments were offered this weekend at the conference of militant Scientologist Elena Cardone. Elena Cardone and her husband Grant Cardone are among the most powerful Scientologists; they have donated tens of millions of dollars to the war chest of David Miscavige, the same war chest that is used to fund operations against people like Leah Remini, former Scientologists who are whistleblowers, survivors of rape and child abuse, human rights advocates, former Scientology executives like the late Mike Rinder, and ME! The Cardones are also top recruiters into Scientology. Elena Cardone especially has used her platform to pull in her followers (many of whom follow her for motivational advice around business and real estate) into Scientology, which operates as a borderless totalitarian state and cult of personality. There is no such thing as a cafeteria Scientologist; Scientologists all believe the same things because that is the very nature of Scientology. Scientology requires gay members to undergo a form of conversion therapy. Scientologists believe that a gay person is better off dead and returning to earth in a different body. Scientology is so deeply homophobic it makes the Westboro Baptist Church look accepting. But due to Scientology policies, Scientologists are taught to handle wogs (the slur that Scientologists call non-Scientologists) in a way that is public relations friendly. So of course Jillian Michaels was welcomed, but if she were a Scientologist (and she’s not) and not famous, the treatment of her would be much, much different. Given the way Scientology operates, particularly when it comes to wealthy Scientologists, there is no such thing as a non-complicit Scientologist. The Cardones allow Scientology to survive and thrive; they are propping up, benefiting from, and funding an organization that operates just like North Korea does, minus the state-sanctioned executions. Oh, and as always, I will remind the conservatives who read this post that Scientology has long engaged in a practice of forced abortions when it comes to Sea Org members (the paramilitary workforce of Scientology).

In a 2022 New Yorker profile, Elisabeth Moss said “people should find out for themselves,” when asked about Scientology. Moss wasn’t encouraging open-mindedness. She is strictly following Scientology policy by not revealing what Scientology is about and deflecting criticism by putting the onus on the one who is criticizing it. In this video, you can see other celebrity Scientologists applying the same policy when asked about Scientology. Scientology, and all Scientologists, are governed strictly by L. Ron Hubbard’s policies. These policies aren’t open to interpretation and can never be changed. L. Ron Hubbard said that Scientologists should “penetrate, don’t explain” Scientology. In one of his policy letters, Hubbard said "We have learned the hard way that an individual from the public must never been asked to decide or choose." This is what I call a Scientology Trojan horse. You’re brought into Scientology on very reasonable terms. Hubbard didn’t want people explaining Scientology because that gets in the way of Scientology’s revenue stream and also means that people don’t go through the steps in Scientology that get them hooked in. They can’t be brainwashed unless they go through the process step by step. If people really knew what Scientology’s practices actually were, they wouldn’t join. And I’m not talking about aliens and Xenu. Imagine if you told someone on day one “in Scientology you’re gonna be forced to snitch on your own children, parents, and best friends.” No one would join. Scientologists also know that they can never reveal any information about the confidential levels of Scientology or they face being declared a suppressive person and losing everything. So, they stick to the script: “find out for yourself.”

South Florida cops claimed they were “forced to fire” at a 32-year-old Black man named Donald Taylor in August because he was armed and would not follow commands. But newly surfaced video contradicts those claims, showing the Black man walking away from cops with his hands raised to his sides showing no gun in his hand when a Hollywood police officer fired a single shot as Taylor had his back turned to the cops, killing him. The video was obtained by the Whitehouse Law Group, a Black-owned law firm in Miami operated by attorney Erian Stirrup White who was retained by Taylor’s family. Our office was able to independently obtain video of the moments leading up to the shooting and what is absolutely clear is that Donald Taylor posed NO THREAT to the officers or the public at the time of this shooting. We demand public accountability and stand with Donald’s family as they pursue justice for this callous act. Hollywood police told local media after the August shooting that Taylor had an active arrest warrant because he was the main suspect in a string of armed robberies throughout Hollywood and Miramar, two municipalities in Broward County. They said they were conducting a surveillance operation in a Miramar neighborhood when they confronted Taylor. Air Ambulance Lands in Leeds Following Double Machete Attack Police are investigating following a violent altercation involving a number of people in the Kirkgate area of Leeds city centre. At 5:04pm yesterday (Tuesday, 18 March) officers were called to Kirkgate Market to a report of a man with a head injury. It is understood that there had been a violent altercation in and around Kirkgate Market and the NCP The Markets car park. The man was taken to hospital where he has been receiving treatment for injuries to the head and hand, which are not understood to be life-threatening. A further report was received of an injured male at a property on Atkinson Street, Hunslet, at 5:39pm. From enquiries, it is understood that he was also injured in the incident in the city centre and made his way to the address in Hunslet. He was taken to hospital by road ambulance under police escort with injuries to his hand and hip which again are not being treated as life-threatening. Three people, a 21-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old male have been arrested.

On July 31, 2022, Mackenzie Shirilla, then 19 years old, intentionally crashed her car into a building at a speed of 100 mph, resulting in the deaths of her boyfriend, 20-year-old Dominic Russo, and 19-year-old Davion Flanagan. Shirilla was found guilty on multiple charges, including two counts of murder. NEW: Arson Attack on East Sussex Mosque Peacehaven mosque in East Sussex has been damaged in an arson attack, which police are investigating as a hate crime. Fire crews were called to the mosque on Phyllis Avenue in Peacehaven at about 21:50 BST on Saturday. While no-one was injured in the incident, the front entrance of the building and a vehicle parked outside were damaged, Sussex Police said in a statement. A volunteer at the mosque told the BBC that two people tried to enter through the front door, only to find it locked. They then poured a liquid at the entrance and near a car parked outside, which was set alight, the volunteer said.
