@JoshuaPHilll Worker ownership is not socialist without a transformation of society and the abolition of capital as a social relation You are just going to end up with “worker co-ops” being the capitalists and the ones who have to let you go

@JoshuaPHilll Uncorrupted communism would be fantastic. Certainly better than corrupt capitalism.

@JoshuaPHilll Definitely a better solution than just unionizing and maintaining the owner-class structure.

@JoshuaPHilll Minimizing the negative environmental impacts of production would also be taken more seriously if the workers were making those decisions. Nobody wants their own backyard polluted. You just don't have a choice currently, it is "accept toxic air in 10 years or you'll starve".

@JoshuaPHilll It'd be nice if coops precluded offshoring, but the facts beg to differ. In the face of global competition, Basque worker coop Fagor not only bought a factory in Poland, but also repressed unions there. This globalized capitalism is a sport where "jogo bonito" has no place.

@JoshuaPHilll Bottomline: if workers can't even earn enough to support themselves but have to rely on gov handouts (paid by taxpayers), while the top-1% buy $500 million toys, something is seriously wrong.

@JoshuaPHilll Tangential, but, man sounds like he's auditioning for a Danny DeVito voice over role.

@JoshuaPHilll Democratize the enterprise !
