Space objects in 3D NASA created 3D models of stars and supernova remnants by combining data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory with computer calculations. These models can not only be viewed on the screen, but also printed on a 3D printer. Here they are, from left to right — the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A, the young star BP Tauri, the planetary nebula Cygnus Loop, and the supernova remnant G292.0+1.8.

Computer vision is so dope. You can map your space in real-time with the phone in your pocket — creating a simplified 3D model with ‘semantically meaningful’ entities representing the room, walls, windows and furniture within that space. Basically, a 3D floor plan. This is Apple’s aptly named Room Plan API inside Polycam. Cupertino has been laying the primitives for Vision Pro for years.

I’m stuck on this but once you notice they tried to edit out the shoulder touch, the choppiness of the edit becomes obvious. They have to cut Mike completely out of the frame so you can’t see him bring his arm up to touch Will, and then they zoom in fast to hide his hand.

JHB CBD …. 🙂 is in a state, that you have to SEE - to Believe. These buildings are worth saving. Solid Structures that were built to Last. Unfortunately, most are in a shocking condition. These neglected buildings Can accommodate thousands of people in low cost units. But nobody cares, so the buildings get to this stage, and people are forced to live in poor conditions, because hijacker’s and bad actors in the CBD, who profit from this poverty don’t care as long as they get paid. We took this building back. And now will fix and secure this building, and maybe it can motivate other building owners, the COJ, and South African’s in general to TAKE BACK Their City. Our new work tackles this problem via 3D visuomotor policy learning. Using data from only 1 scene, our Improved 3D Diffusion Policy (iDP3) enables a full-sized humanoid robot to autonomously pick&place objects, pour water, and wipe tables, in the wild open world. This is some quietly impressive work on making video world models actually controllable in 4D space. VerseCrafter lets you take an input image, use something like Blender to animate the 3D camera path and object trajectories, then uses that to condition generation. Scribbling in 2D feels so crude in comparison. The authors represent everything in a shared 4D world state - static background as a point cloud, moving objects as 3D gaussian trajectories. The gaussians are an interesting choice because they capture position, shape, and orientation probabilistically rather than forcing rigid bounding boxes or category specific models like SMPL-X for human bodies. They bolt this onto frozen Wan2.1 with a lightweight adapter, so they get a strong video prior. They also built a pipeline to auto extract 4D annotations from real world videos to train this puppy. It doesn't look sexy yet, but IMO this is the interface video world models need - actual 3D authoring tools to exert control rather than crude scribbles and prompt incantations.
