In this direction, the Government had earlier launched the first phase of the Coal Gasification Incentive Scheme with an allocation of ₹8,500 crore. With a financial outlay of ₹37,500 crores, the initiative is expected to attract ₹2.5–3 lakh crore in investments and create around 50,000 jobs, backed by long-term policy support and indigenous technology development.
