With the current stage of college sports I bet fewer people care. It’s a total mess. When everything is transactional, nothing matters.

Absolutely horrible. 12 is too many the way it is. Why don’t we have 120 for the Basketball tournament too! Ridiculous.

They don’t want mid teams playing at home in the 1st round. It hurts tv ratings. This year you had ND, Penn st, Texas, and Ohio State all playing at home.

Leave the CFP at 12 schools. Season is getting unreasonably longer as you keep expanding. With 12 you almost had a 3-loss team make it. At 16, now you start looking at a 4-loss team possibly.

SEC teams are playing 9 game conference schedules in 2026. If Texas misses the playoff, the entire landscape/pageantry of College Football changes. This is a difficult position for the CFP committee to be in, but they have a chance to set the precedent.
