They don’t want mid teams playing at home in the 1st round. It hurts tv ratings. This year you had ND, Penn st, Texas, and Ohio State all playing at home.

Leave the CFP at 12 schools. Season is getting unreasonably longer as you keep expanding. With 12 you almost had a 3-loss team make it. At 16, now you start looking at a 4-loss team possibly.
