Additional Context: So, the administration isn't just disposing the bodies. They told us they are preserving DNA samples of each body that's unidentified (which is most of them). They are then providing a unique number to each body before burying it. That number will be in the govt records as well as will be visible on the surface of these graves. Why though? This is done so that whenever there is someone who comes forward to claim a body and is able to pass the DNA identification, the govt knows exactly where the mortal remains are and those can be handed over.

💔 damn. But thanks for reporting and documenting the reality on ground.

People of Nepal don’t deserve this it’s heartbea

😢

Om Shanti 😭

Be safe Sir.

This is unbelievable! Do you know if they are streaming the images of the undidentified online too?

Just heartbreaking. Take care, Jugal.

Thanks Poulomi!

I can so relate to this Jugal. Reminds me of the warehouse in Balasore where the bodies were kept for familes to identify. The stench hits you hard. Nauseating at first. But as we immersed ourselves in the process of documenting the scale of people's loss and grief, it makes you numb. Your vid just brought back those memories in flashback. Fab work as usual. Tc
