A major winter storm has blanketed the East Coast, prompting many jurisdictions to restrict or limit travel because of its “potentially historic” nature. Early Monday, CNN Weather and FOX Weather reported that the storm had intensified into a “bomb cyclone,” a term meteorologists use to describe a rapidly strengthening system.
