Kudos to her for staying in the pocket and attempting to have a good faith argument about something she obviously feels strongly about. I wish we could get more of this.

The original "name on the resume" experiment was from a paper called "Are Emily and Greg More Employable than Lakisha and Jamal?" (AER 2004) It's was a TERRIBLE study. It almost certainly showed class bias, not racism. Recognizably "black" names are associated with the ghetto. Poverty is associated with low IQ, poor education, and a lack of sophistication. What the study did NOT do was repeat the experiment with redneck names like Earl Ray Yokum or Bo Hicks. Had they done this, they would have discovered that the same kind of discrimination occurs with poor White names. The researchers did not know the race of anyone who made hiring decisions at the companies they contacted. For all they know it might have been all black women. It was assumed that they were all white and that racism was the motivation. It's a terrible study.

This student changes her mind while Bernie Sanders continues being dumb. Bernie, on Joe Rogans podcast, admitted not knowing the difference between equality and equity. Joe explained one represents opportunities and the later outcomes.

Her body language is something to behold. You can see how tense she is, leg shaking, voice trembling, close to tears (in my perception). She seemed so much more relaxed when she came back afterwards. This must have been a profound experience. Kudos to both of you.

She’s calm and collected and listening. There’s hope for her. I’ve spoken to white liberal women about my experiences as a police officer candidate with Los Angeles Police Department 20 years ago when I was being processed through as a Hispanic woman first. Not as a person with an excellent work ethic and as a law abiding citizen etc. So my background was a joke. I eventually walked away from the hiring process. The liberal women I share this experience with don’t understand how degrading it felt, and how racist it really was. I felt I was less of a candidate and not on the same level as my non Hispanic peers. I wanted to compete fairly

It's nice to see that some of them can be reasoned with. You're doing great work, Warren. Keep it up.

Why are people so dug in on the topic of DEI vs Merit? Seems pretty cut a dry to me.

This is a sign of high IQ, to be able to change your mind when new evidence is apparent. Good for her and if only we had more tutors like you who speak common sense. I think the virus preys on stupid people, and unfortunately stupid people will always be the majority.

Good on her, we need more of this. Finding anyone willing to debate without at minimum an eye roll is very frustrating.

not entirely sure shes changed her mind, she feels strongly about it still and is probably going to read more about why its actually not racist im glad youre having these convos and exposing how people have no logic or reason to justify their opinions though, gg

She didn’t really change her mind bro. She most likely went on thinking the exact same bullshit she believed before. You cannot change the minds on the left.

It’s encouraging to see healthy convos it’s rare. Even more rare to see someone with an open mind shift and be excited to learn and grow as an individual.

She literally said she still supports DEI and can't formulate a coherent argument as to why you're wrong though.

She genuinely experiences cognitive dissonance. It COULD change her mind. But we don’t know that yet.

That was amazing to watch Warren. I could see you light up - she was getting it and she wasn't angry. Great title for your new book - going to check it out. Maybe we can do an article for my new Inc. column about the power of thinking for yourself!

The biggest problem is we allowed (and still do) our kids to be indoctrinated by left from very young without any pushback. It's pure brainwashing of form when they are toddlers, obviously its almost going to be possible to convince them otherwise.

So incremental, so in need, so important to hear emotions. The struggle against what was logically rational & workable. Unbelievably odd that this was the desired outcome, from the 60s, until the early 20s. No kudos.

Global correspondence studies—where researchers send identical CVs with different names—consistently show that minority candidates must send significantly more applications to secure an interview.
