I forget how many miss that when a propeller spins fast,it creates extreme low pressure on the blade’s back that water vaporizes. The collapsing bubbles create micro-jets at 100+ m/s. The bubbles are mini explosions. Reminder that there’s a lot beneath the surface.

This Hubble image features a small detail of N159 ✨ a star-forming complex in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Stars are beginning to shine through the cold, dark interior of the cloud. Some of them seem to lie within a reddish bubble. When you flush, water flows down and drags air inside the pipe. Bubbles form, and the flow becomes unstable. This creates a partial vacuum in the system. That vacuum starts pulling air from the toilet itself. That’s why you hear that “glup” sound and even get gas backflow. Now, when the system has proper venting, everything changes. Air enters through the vent pipe and balances the pressure. Flow becomes smooth, with no bubbles or interruptions. No vacuum, no suction, and proper drainage. That small pipe is what prevents the entire problem.
