A study from the Berkeley Research Group points out the high cost of California’s $20 fast food minimum wage. It caused prices to rise 14.5%… and cost 10,700 jobs. I warned about this last year:

Here is @Comm4Prosperity's write up on the study:

California has the nation’s highest housing costs. Some blame a housing shortage; others, government policies. We sit down with experts to explore what’s driving costs and discuss the state-mandated Housing Development initiative and why some cities push back.

If Democrats so strongly believe in the never ending increase in the minimum wage to relieve “income inequality” and promote growth, they should just raise the minimum wage to $100 per hour. Better yet, raise it to $1,000,000 per hour. And then, everyone will be rich.

A lot of politicians are the dumbest people in the nation

I have to argue this with so many people.. if you just increase MONEY, but not good or services, its going to end badly...

Every single time.

They got their sound bites and pats on the back, somehow don’t think they will talk about the reality of it.

That’s the mentality of the “Blue no matter who” voter. They don’t know what Profit/Loss means. They just go along with the tribe. Uhg! 🤦🏽♀️

feel good politics = zero awareness of game theory ♟️

It's tough when good intentions lead to unexpected consequences. The rising costs and job losses are definitely concerning.

Yep, pretty simple economic there… leave it to the left to not have the comprehension of this basic principle.

Are you going to cover tariffs too?

I have never seen Nero so proud of himself.

It's always a challenge to balance fair wages with broader economic impacts like pricing and employment shifts. While changes like these can feel tough in the short term, they also spark important conversations about the value of work and how industries adapt. California's situation highlights how interconnected these issues are, and it's a reminder that finding sustainable solutions often takes time and collaboration.

Yes it's great, but now you'll have a lot more part time employee without benefits. This only hurts small businesses. It's no wonder why everyone is know with few exceptions are leaving California for Texas, Tennessee, and Idaho. There are not going to be anybody left.

Ignorance of economic reality on full display. Political theater costs jobs.

@DaveBondyTV this is what’s coming to Michigan. Please add this to your coverage.

That's just shocking... never saw that coming 🤔

It accomplished what their goal was. Complete success.

Newsom is delusional…

Everyone knew this John. Even CA politicians. Fast food workers who are still employed now have more money to spend, but still can't afford fast food.

But everyone feels good and pats themselves on the back! That’s the only thing that matters here

"What's the point of a raise if you don't have a job anymore." Succinct answer to all this.

The same law created a board to look at future increases. Right now they are looking at possibly raising the wage to $20.70.

Other than the Managers or Asst Managers, the jobs at fast food joints were always intended to be part time jobs for teenagers and students, with the occasional adult adding a 2nd job or a senior who wanted to supplement Social Security. A fry cook is not a full time job!

Newscum is an idiot what did you expect

Thank you John and Berkeley. Now can someone please make California great again! Do I want to go visit the Big Trees, or Death Valley? P.S. if you let the big trees burn, I will never forgive you California.

And yet the Quality of work was worse, how can this be?😆

Simple economics 🤷🏻♂️ something Democrats can’t understand 🤦♂️

And nobody listened. Everyone was thinking how their pay would increase, they didn't think that it would bring the cost of meals up to a point where people cannot afford a simple burger any longer. People just didn't think.

We really shouldn't be having people that don't understand simple economics making policy and laws for us.

It was never about getting workers more money; it was a disguised communist tactic.

These jobs are for kids learning how to work. An adult, other than the manager shouldn't be working these low skilled jobs. 3 dollar meal is now 12 because of it.

politicians be funny wit da money
