@raina_illune When it comes to this, I agree that communication is extremely important - especially if you want your client to be satisfied with not only the end result, but also the entire process/updates behind it.

@raina_illune I as a Client want a lot of communication with an artist Like, I'm commissioning sth I might be spending a ton of money, I want that money to go into an artwork I want and not just something the artist winged cause they don't know what I want

@raina_illune the issue i have when commissioning stuff is that i genuinely have no clue about how it's done, so i just trust the professional. kind of like getting a haircut...

@raina_illune Even a surprise me cms sometimes also need a communication before start working to reduce any misunderstanding. I can't see how to do a custom cms with little of that.

@raina_illune True! I try to keep things in bullet points so it's easier for the artist. Idm getting spammed by WIPs so long as it makes sure we're on the same page. Even communication around simple things like the artist's process workflow, or when i can expect to be updated helps too.

@raina_illune There are times when I've gone into coms without much of an Idea of what I want I just wanted something. But I do like it when artists ask about stuff especially when they make me think about things I wasn't before

@raina_illune The freelance treadmill burns you out quickly. I learned that recurring revenue consistently outperforms hourly rates.
