Public schools are government institutions and cannot sponsor, host, or promote religious events. U.S. Dept. of Education rules allow neutral teaching about religion but prohibit school-sponsored celebrations. Courts have struck down similar Christian events for decades. Local demographics or “inclusion” don’t override the Constitution states the government must stay neutral. This is taxpayer-funded promotion of one faith. A Christian equivalent would trigger immediate outrage and lawsuits. Parents or groups can (and should) sue the district. The law applies equally.

@davethegr8one I don’t have a problem with children learning about Muslim religion because many of us take comparative religions in college and I find it fascinating. I would like to however, during holy week teaching about Jesus Christ. The problem is Christ is taken out of everything.
