Ngl, this gave me peace. My ex landlord charged me full money for a broken kitchen drawer that was 20 years old. I asked him that I will pay only 10% considering the age of the furniture, but he didn't budge This is kind of poetic justice I expect with him, as well

This is disgusting, but I have never had a landlord that was honest about a security deposit. There is normal wear and tear, yet tenants typically get charged for that. It’s criminal, but so is what this tenant did

landlords are constantly looking for any reason to not give back a security deposit as it is so this honestly feels deserved.
Dialogue could have solved some of these things. Landlord should have been reasonable and now he's paying $3k instead of $1.5k
