Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion and the court agreed 6-3 that the tariffs exceeded the law. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s three liberals in the majority.

CNN: “Her decision was based on the argument made in the complaint that this was unlawful and unwarranted... The president exceeded his authority, and that there is no proof that the containment of the protest... could not be done with regular forces. There was no need to bring in the military.” Judge Immergut granted a temporary restraining order that expires in 14 days on October 18.
