A truly disruptive washing machine developed by an Indian startup from Chandigarh. Uses no detergent and almost no water.

Designing a washing machine that purified & recycled a single load of water (like in a swimming pool) would be a better & cheaper option. Topping up of a couple of litres of water would be required every wash. Devising a convenient water storage mechanism is the main challenge.

This looks green when taken as an individual standalone system but consider this : this machine utilises steam generated by electric heaters that too superheated dry steam probably 1t 400 C or above , that too much wastage of high grade energy for a low grade work.

Many such ideas come and vanish. How to take them forward and how to make funding and usability univarsal is challenge. Big companies won't b liking such tech coming in and replacing them.

Why this may not be successful. 1. No guarantee on the ability to clean clothes in a single wash 2. Very small no. of clothes washed/cycle. Large drapes or heavy clothes with stains will not get cleaned 3. High power consumption to clean 5~6kg clothes
