It’s two part. Pycell deceiving everyone for decades is delicious, but that Tywin could immediately see through that, but couldn’t see what was right in front of him in his own family, said volumes.

“I can have you returned to the dirt” is a wild way to say I can have you killed.

I don’t know why Game Of Thrones has been dominating my timeline lately but it’s definitely reminding me just how good that show was..

What I love about this scene too is it gives more context to why Tywin got so annoyed with him at Joffrey’s wedding when he was stuttering 😂

It’s a terrible scene. It makes no sense for Tywin to call him out, and makes even less sense for Pycelle to drop the bit. And besides, the scene with the whore is a way more effective and memorable way for the audience to learn the truth about Pycelle.

We did get this though… 🏋️

And it’s a brilliant scene. Tywin’s first scene was all about him skinning a deer, a symbol of removing the Baratheon rule. In this scene, he is fishing, which serves as a foreshadowing symbol of removing the Tully rule of the Riverlands

To be fair; when Tyrion wakes up after the battle of black water bay; and after Tyrion sends Podrick to tell Varys that he (Tyrion) is alive with maestor Pycell; the “act is dropped” briefly

Charles Dance’s brilliant acting multi tasked with his outdoors skills is incredible. His scene skinning the stagg in one take while telling Jaime how the legacy of House Lannister lies in the balance, is one of the greatest delivered monologues in cinematic history.

I think what adds to its greatness is that this version of him is only superficially less pathetic than the facade, he's still an amoral craven, it's just that he's not pantomiming what most people believe a feckless coward must be like.

I think this scene at least proves that D&D were capable of creating really good original content if they put the work in.

Game of thrones is such a masterpiece and shows modern politics. There’s entertainers that influence people, religious leaders dabbling in politics, misandry agenda, cover ups, whistleblowers getting killed, ‘immigrants’ takeover, shifting world powers. Everything

He’s an underrated character imo. This scene is 10/10

I started reading the books and appreciate this show even more. They did EXCELLENT! AND THE BOOKS ARE LIKE NOTHING ELSE

It’s a great scene except for the “bleh blah blah bleh blah blah” that he does for like a second too long. Otherwise it’s good.

This is an amazing scene and tells lots about the 2 men here. Pycelle admitted he was putting on an act after all and why. And that Lannister was never fooled by his act. This scene should not have been cut out.

Never seen this scene. Great back & forth here. It’s another small example of why GoT is so special. Everything is deeper than the surface ESPECIALLY motives/agendas

This is only impressive by people who didn’t realize the act by the hints that already are in the show. This scene is just over expository and that’s why it was cut off.

Fr don’t understand why they deleted this scene it’s such an interesting layer to an otherwise kinda lame character in pycelle
