Ed, to me the answer is pretty straightforward. Russia is the aggressor and must not be allowed to profit off what they have done. If NATO show's weak leadership, it will begin to unravel.

But if Ukraine loses something to gain peace, then what's to stop Russia from just rinsing and repeating in a few months? Ukraine just wants Russia to give back what they took and get out of their country. They shouldn't have give up anything for that. It's theirs.

What’s winning the war in your opinion? This war cannot be won by Ukraine, we can only through endless money and resources with no successful outcome. A study of Ukraines history will only tell you they’ve never democracy or a stable Country.

The only solution is going to be a peace deal that has Ukraine relinquishing control of the territory Russia has secured. I realize many don't want to hear that but it's exactly how this will end.

President Trump: I think Russia wants to make a deal. I think Ukraine wants to make a deal. And we're going to try getting a deal done. I can say that we're reasonably close. What happens is that oftentimes we'll have a deal with Russia, Russia's set, and President Zelenskyy will not do it. And then we'll have President Zelensky wants to make a deal, and Putin doesn't want to make the deal. It's a very difficult balance.

And looking weak in Russia is the ultimate sin. Russia is a strongman country, and a strongman who looks weak eventually gets taken over by a stronger strongman. And so, from Putin’s perspective, the only option he has is to escalate. Even if that’s suicidal, terrible for economy, leads to tens or hundreds of thousands more young Russian men dying, he will escalate. Putin has never been sincere about reaching a peace deal at any step of the way. He’s been pushed and prodded by Europeans, by Americans, by Ukrainians to do a peace deal. And Putin just doesn’t want to do it because he understands that a peace deal effectively means that a million psychopathic, murderous soldiers come back from Ukraine and then start doing terrible things inside Russia. And most importantly, doing a peace deal means that people then question him: why did he start this war in the first place? He didn’t achieve any of the goals he stated. Why did Russia lose 1.5 million young men? Why did Russia lose a trillion dollars of value, of property, of resources in this terrible war? And then they’ll say it’s all the fault of Vladimir Putin, and he understands that it’s not going to end well for him.

That’s exactly what Ukraine is doing today. And I’m proud to have always stood with Ukraine and to have realized from very beginning that they were not going to take this lying down. Ukrainians have great army, support of the people, and a government that's doing things that they need to do.
