A Virginia Beach mom taught herself how barcodes work and started printing coupons from her home computer. She built a $31 MILLION scheme mailing them to strangers before anyone noticed. – Lori Ann Talens went by "MasterChef" online, running the operation quietly from her house in Virginia Beach starting... around April 2017. – She was a self-taught graphic designer who figured out exactly how retail barcode systems worked, then used that to build counterfeit coupons that were nearly identical to the real thing. – Her coupons were deliberately inflated, sometimes offering more than an item's full retail price, letting buyers walk out with products completely free. – She found customers through Facebook and Telegram groups full of "extreme couponing" enthusiasts, and shipped the fake coupons out through USPS and private couriers. – For every $1 a customer paid her, they received about $50 worth of counterfeit savings. – She was paid over $400,000 total, some of it in Bitcoin, and at times bartered coupons directly for stolen rolls of the special thermal paper stores use to print real receipts and coupons. – It took three years before anyone caught on. – The scheme was finally flagged by the Coupon Information Corporation, an industry group that monitors coupon fraud, after a tip came in. – When the FBI raided her house, agents said they found counterfeit coupons "in every crevice," plus digital designs for more than 13,000 different products stored on her computer. – Investigators calculated the total damage to retailers and manufacturers at $31,817,997. – She was sentenced in 2021 to 12 years in federal prison. – Her husband, who helped ship the coupons, got 7 years and 3 months. – The case didn't stop there. – Federal prosecutors kept charging her bulk customers for years afterward, with the final defendant sentenced as recently as mid-2026. I genuinely cannot understand how someone can watch this story and still stand there, looking at two women, and somehow decide that the wrong one is the victim. On one side, you have a girl (Yıldız) who has been mistreated her entire life. Since the moment she was born, she was treated like a sacrifice for a conflict she was never even part of and later we find out that this conflict never even existed. Her right to study was taken from her. She was pushed into a marriage at a very young age just imagine being six, seven, eight years old, living in fear of being tied to someone you don’t even know. She was treated like a servant in her own home, by the very people she thought were her family. And just when she gets close to the happiness she dreamed of, the man she was engaged to shows up with another wife. She gets mistreated by that wife, by his family, and even (unintentionally) by him, because he was trying to run away from his own feelings, and that only caused her more heartbreak. The whole world was literally against her. She fought through all of that, only to find out in the end that everything she suffered for was based on something that wasn’t even real. Her entire life was built on a lie. That she isn’t even part of that family that she has literally no one in this world. Now on the other side… You have a girl (Melek) who, yes, was taken from her biological mother but she was raised by loving parents. She had everything anyone could wish for: education, freedom, a happy childhood, a healthy environment. This is one of my favorite player development stories of all time…. Sophie is one of the best players to come out of the Albany area, especially in the last handful of years. She was an unbelievable shooter in HS, signed to play for URI in the A-10. Before her Freshman year she developed a ‘wiggle’ in her elbow on her shot. It was tough for her to reach from the HS 3 pt line. I remember being nervous that if she couldn’t fix it, it would be hard for her to get on the court. She didn’t play much that whole year and during winter break, when she got home, we locked in and figured out a series of drills that would help her limit the wiggle and generate power on her shot. In this video are a couple of the drills, you can see how the elbow stabilized in just a couple days. The best part is that she was able to then go back to school, continue what we worked on, and improve it by shortening the dip and transfer that success to games. She went on to shoot over 40% from three that year, and broke the career 3 point record at URI. I’m really proud of how she took ownership of her development and achieved success!!

This woman was trying to break into the fashion world. She and her photographer were going around NYC taking photographs that were bold and daring. She was in the process of taking this photo when a woman starts to yell at her about how she can’t work without looking out the window and seeing the young lady hanging onto the guard rail for a pose. She expressed she was worried she was going to fall. The young lady was more interested that the woman owns a magazine than she was about her own safety, she then proceeds to call her a Karen for their interaction.
