I have always been a firm advocate for women's inclusion in governance and decision-making. My commitment to gender equality is unwavering because I believe that a society thrives when women are actively involved in shaping policies and leading initiatives. It is imperative that we take legislative action to secure women's participation in politics. One of the key steps toward this goal is mandating that party delegate selections include women, this is not just about fairness; it is about ensuring that the voices of half our population are heard in leadership spaces. Beyond policy discussions, I have consistently highlighted the challenges women face within governmental structures. Many women in leadership positions hesitate to speak up, often out of fear or societal pressure. This must change. We need structural reforms, including the creation of special seats for women and the enforcement of laws that guarantee at least 35% representation in governance. We must break down entrenched gender stereotypes and cultural barriers that have kept women on the sidelines for too long. At the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), global leaders—including UN Secretary-General António Guterres—reaffirmed the need for more women in leadership. The UN has made significant strides in achieving gender parity among senior leadership by expanding the search for qualified women, proving that when given the opportunity, women lead with excellence and impact. My participation in the Nigeria Women’s Day event at CSW69 is yet another step in my relentless advocacy for gender equality. The fight for inclusion is not just about women—it is about building a more just and prosperous society for all. I will continue to push for systemic change, and I encourage every Nigerian woman to take up space, raise her voice, and claim her rightful place in governance. I would like to also take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the World Council for Health in 2023. This past year has seen our coalition of more than 225 grassroots organisations go from strength to strength! With your financial contributions, we have demonstrated leadership in medicine, holistic health and science, international health policy, and human rights law. The World Council for Health has become a leading voice on health and sovereignty issues that impact everyone. At WCH, we envision a healthy, free, and sovereign world where we all have what we need to generate, sustain, and protect our own health and that of our loved ones, our communities, and our environments. However, a minority of special interest groups have a rather different vision, they envision a New World Order where we have nothing, and they have everything. A world of monopoly power where we, the many, are made fearful and exploited by the few. This is the most pressing issue of our time and it has grave implications for the future of our children if we choose to do nothing. JOSHUA’s full speech for UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together #조슈아 🦌: im joshua, and im honored to speak today on behalf of the 13 members of seventeen. 🦌: before anything else, i want to share that all our members truly wish they could be here today. they r sending all their love & support to everyone in this room. 🦌: today marks seventeen’s 3rd visit to unesco headquarters, a place that is always meaningful to us. from the vibrant energy of the 2023 youth forum, where we celebrated youth solidarity, to the profound honor of our 2024 appointment as unesco goodwill ambassadors for youth, every moment remains vivid in our memories. 🦌: upon our appointment, we shared with unesco a core belief: that young people should be empowered to lead change. this vision also aligns closely with the un youth 2030 strategy, wc aims to ensure that all young people, in all their diversities, are empowered as equal partners, leaders, & rights holders. driven by this conviction, seventeen proudly committed to launching a global youth grant scheme entitled “going together: for youth creativity and well-being”. this initiative was designed to provide young people wt resources, mentorship, & platforms to turn their ideas into meaningful actions. deeply moved by their passion & creativity, we knew we couldnt stop there. we expanded our commitment to help scale these efforts & support an even greater impact. 🦌: supporting this journey has been deeply valuable to all of us. we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. pls join me in a warm round of applause for all the young leaders who made these achievements possible, both here wt us in person & joining us online from around the world. 🦌: beyond the numbers, what really matters r the stories. we have seen young people use music and dance for healing, art for mental well-being, & sports to build confidence. they are transforming their communities in ways we never imagined. 🦌: two things amaze us most. first, no project was done by just one person. they came together, joined forces, and made it happen as a team. second, they did not need someone to tell them what to do bc they are the ones who know the challenges of their communities best. they were the ones who found the best solutions. 🦌: together, these experiences showed us that young people already have the answers to change the world. they just need someone to believe in them. at the same time, we know that creating change is never easy. it comes wt moments of doubt, immense pressure, & sleepless nights. for seventeen, that journey feels deeply familiar. 🦌: as 13 individuals sharing one dream for over a decade, we faced our own uncertainties, having to reinvent ourselves, embrace challenges, & push beyond our limits. thru those experiences, we learned that growth is never achieved alone. it thrives on trust & the belief that we are stronger together. yet moving as one team has never meant walking the exact same path. thru our unit & individual endeavors, each of us grows in our own way, making seventeen more complete as a whole. 🦌: it is for this very reason that we have promised to move forward as one team. we see this beautiful dynamic reflected in your work as well. across diff countries & cultures, each of u is pursuing a unique path. while ur projects address diff challenges, together, u r creating a better world for us all. so lets keep going together! 🦌: thru the journey of the global youth grant scheme, we realized that there are dreams everywhere. i think they just need a gentle nudge, a small voice that says, “we believe in you.” we want to be that small voice.

JOSHUA’s full speech for UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together #조슈아 🦌: im joshua, and im honored to speak today on behalf of the 13 members of seventeen. 🦌: before anything else, i want to share that all our members truly wish they could be here today. they r sending all their love & support to everyone in this room. 🦌: today marks seventeen’s 3rd visit to unesco headquarters, a place that is always meaningful to us. from the vibrant energy of the 2023 youth forum, where we celebrated youth solidarity, to the profound honor of our 2024 appointment as unesco goodwill ambassadors for youth, every moment remains vivid in our memories. 🦌: upon our appointment, we shared with unesco a core belief: that young people should be empowered to lead change. this vision also aligns closely with the un youth 2030 strategy, wc aims to ensure that all young people, in all their diversities, are empowered as equal partners, leaders, & rights holders. driven by this conviction, seventeen proudly committed to launching a global youth grant scheme entitled “going together: for youth creativity and well-being”. this initiative was designed to provide young people wt resources, mentorship, & platforms to turn their ideas into meaningful actions. deeply moved by their passion & creativity, we knew we couldnt stop there. we expanded our commitment to help scale these efforts & support an even greater impact. 🦌: supporting this journey has been deeply valuable to all of us. we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. pls join me in a warm round of applause for all the young leaders who made these achievements possible, both here wt us in person & joining us online from around the world. 🦌: beyond the numbers, what really matters r the stories. we have seen young people use music and dance for healing, art for mental well-being, & sports to build confidence. they are transforming their communities in ways we never imagined. 🦌: two things amaze us most. first, no project was done by just one person. they came together, joined forces, and made it happen as a team. second, they did not need someone to tell them what to do bc they are the ones who know the challenges of their communities best. they were the ones who found the best solutions. 🦌: together, these experiences showed us that young people already have the answers to change the world. they just need someone to believe in them. at the same time, we know that creating change is never easy. it comes wt moments of doubt, immense pressure, & sleepless nights. for seventeen, that journey feels deeply familiar. 🦌: as 13 individuals sharing one dream for over a decade, we faced our own uncertainties, having to reinvent ourselves, embrace challenges, & push beyond our limits. thru those experiences, we learned that growth is never achieved alone. it thrives on trust & the belief that we are stronger together. yet moving as one team has never meant walking the exact same path. thru our unit & individual endeavors, each of us grows in our own way, making seventeen more complete as a whole. 🦌: it is for this very reason that we have promised to move forward as one team. we see this beautiful dynamic reflected in your work as well. across diff countries & cultures, each of u is pursuing a unique path. while ur projects address diff challenges, together, u r creating a better world for us all. so lets keep going together! 🦌: thru the journey of the global youth grant scheme, we realized that there are dreams everywhere. i think they just need a gentle nudge, a small voice that says, “we believe in you.” we want to be that small voice.

Uranus is all over the timeline. Full credit to the creativity, ambition and resourcefulness of the uranus community. It’s very early days yet, but we are very impressed by those that took to heart the mantra that “you are responsible for uranus”. Over the last month, the Uranus community has been relentlessly pounding away at uranus with shitposts, jokes, raids, IRL posters, banners, billboards outside Tesla HQs, etc. Rain or shine, irrespective of market conditions, amidst speculation and FUD, they showed up every day for uranus. And of course, yesterday, the community demonstrated the appeal of uranus as a timeless, instantly recognizable and extremely relatable joke by putting uranus in the New York City sky for all to see. We believe uranus can go mainstream. The pent up potential of uranus was partially released today thanks to the hard work of the community which displayed creativity, resourcefulness and agency. We are confident that this is only the start and there is far more gas in the tank to propel uranus to new heights. And this is exactly what we wanted to see when we first started Jup Studio. Both the grit and the ambition. Grit - because when it wasn’t clear where the bottom was, the community didn’t bend over. They didn’t beg someone else to save uranus. They rallied around uranus and kept going. Ambition - because it’s clear the community thinks that uranus is bigger than the trenches. The audience for uranus is global. We can get mindshare and attention on uranus that goes beyond a trencher trying to flip uranus in ten seconds. Hell, we have TikTok videos of uranus now that are far longer than the average Solana trader hold time. Further, instead of latching onto mainstream trends and making them into a coin, the community is attempting to take a timeless joke and make it mainstream instead. And if the community can get uranus into the mainstream consciousness and get enough new people to have a stake in uranus, we have a shot at getting enough escape velocity to escape the usual negative sum games. It is of course not just uranus, the entire studio community has been plugging away, bagworking, creatively creating content, and tirelessly recruiting allies. It is a pleasure to be working alongside them, and we look forward to the emergence of many more creators, coins and communities. At Studio, we are focused on helping to realize 1. the potential of projects to have mainstream appeal; 2. the potential of the community to become one of the best communities globally; and 3. the potential of Studio itself to be the best platform for creating sustainable monies and non-zero sum games. We’ve always maintained that studio isn’t a launchpad, it’s a platform for sustainable money creation. Its a tool to empower and to give agency to communities and creators. And while this vision will become more apparent in the coming weeks and months, we have to say that based on our metrics, uranus is looking good here.

Should the global tech community continue investing in Malaysia? Given recent events, I raise this question respectfully for the consideration of Prime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim (Anwar Ibrahim), for the people of Malaysia, and for our friends in the Malaysian tech community. The answer will be of interest to anyone in global tech that’s considering building, investing, or expanding in Malaysia, including executives at Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft, founders of tech unicorns like Coinbase and Solana, and investors at the world’s largest venture capital funds like a16z and Polychain. As context, I am the former CTO of Coinbase and former General Partner at a16z. In October 2024, I opened a startup society called Network School in Malaysia, because I felt I’d been invited in by the government’s pro-tech policies. Specifically, the KL20 initiative set out Malaysia’s ambition of becoming a top 20 global tech hub. Their MDEC digital nomad visas and MM2H investor visas were created to facilitate an influx of global talent and capital. And the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone was announced to facilitate the flow of capital and talent between Malaysia and Singapore, where I live. When taken in combination with Malaysia’s datacenter buildout and its policy of welcoming visa-free visits for 98% of the world, it seemed like Malaysia might be a great place to build a global tech hub that was simultaneously inexpensive and easy to visit (especially for non-Westerners). And that’s what we did, by creating Network School. It’s an international tech community with its first node in Forest City, Malaysia. We picked Forest City because it had millions of square feet of empty space, because it was one hour from Singapore’s capital markets, and because it was within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone. Then, within 18 months, without a single penny of government money, we built Network School into a global attraction that brought thousands of engineers, investors, and builders from 70+ countries to learn technology, burn calories, earn online, and have fun, integrating with the local Malaysian economy along the way. Indeed, in terms of quantifiable contribution to the Malaysian economy, we’ve already invested 100M+ MYR in our campus to make it startup-friendly. For perspective, that’s about 4% of the budget of Johor, the Malaysian state where Forest City is located. We employ dozens of Malaysians directly and indirectly at every level from executive to staff. We’ve backed Malaysian tech startups like Collektr, hosted events for local teams like Superteam Malaysia, and are major customers of many local businesses like barbers, laundromats, and restaurants. We’ve also revitalized the multibillion-dollar Forest City project, causing millions of MYR in real estate appreciation. And, as the video below describes, we were on the cusp of a 500M+ MYR expansion to grow our community, as well as a global merit scholarship with my friend Amjad Masad of Replit. However, that emerging multi-billion dollar success story — which should rightfully have been hailed as a huge victory for the pro-tech policies of the Malaysian government — is at risk of being derailed by a fake story spread by an anonymous account named MP4P. In short: on the day before the July 11 Johor elections, MP4P posted an Instagram post falsely accusing Network School of harboring illegal aliens. The sensational accusations caused a tizzy in Malaysia, until Malaysian authorities came to our campus on July 14 to investigate. (I should note that the officers were very polite and professional.) After checking hundreds of physical passports from 40 countries, including dual passport holders, the authorities confirmed to the press on July 15 that all travel documents were in order. During the process, we cooperated fully; in the thread below you can see a photo of the men, women, and children of Network School smiling and holding up their passports in the bright daylight. Our faces are shown and our names are known; we have nothing to hide. With that said, the process is the punishment. What MP4P did is very similar to the American crime of “swatting”, because MP4P created a hoax report of a serious threat, thereby forcing the Malaysian police to take time away from protecting the Malaysian people towards investigating a nonexistent issue. Moreover, this anonymous MP4P account has also called for Malaysia to boycott Apple, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft…a move that would cost ordinary Malaysians thousands of jobs…even while MP4P’s own Instagram collaborators promote their Apple and Google apps! I mean, we aren’t talking about a credible accuser, but just someone screaming inconsistently at the top of their lungs on social media for traffic, an all-too-common phenomenon these days. Anyway, at this point, all further investment we were planning to make in Malaysia is on hold until we get sufficient assurance that such issues won’t recur. So are the investment plans of many of our friends, including the execs and investors at global tech firms that we brought to Forest City. Because to put it very plainly: we have invested 100M+ MYR in Malaysia, while creating jobs for dozens of Malaysians, and our faces and names are known. Our Malaysian executives and employees deserve the benefit of the doubt over anonymous internet trolls. There are two paths forward. In the first case, if Malaysia still wants continued global tech investment, if it wants to be a top 20 tech hub, if it wants us to revitalize Forest City, then we request an audience with the Prime Minister’s office to discuss the terms of a memorandum of understanding between Network School and the Malaysian government, similar to the document recently signed between the Solana Foundation and the Kazakhstan government. Specifics can of course be discussed, but we would publicly commit to abiding by all Malaysian laws (we already do) and respecting Malaysia’s sovereignty (never in question). In return, they’d get to know our friendly community, and realize that we actually chose Malaysia because we thought it was a great place to build a tech hub where engineers from the global South, investors from the West, and builders from Malaysia itself could meet new people, build cool things, and perhaps create millions of dollars in economic growth in the fullness of time. That vision of peace and trade, internationalism and entrepreneurialism, is still on the table. We aren’t asking for any money — just a meeting, to help restore confidence in Malaysia as an investable jurisdiction. Alternatively, if you don’t want our investment, or those of our colleagues at billion dollar funds and trillion dollar companies, we will of course respect your wishes, and reallocate our capital to other countries instead. Either way, we will remain friends and abide by your decision. Please let us know.

Thank you all for welcoming me. It is a tremendous privilege to stand before such passionate leaders, merchants, and ambassadors who are shaping the future of the GCV movement in Thailand. Since Ms. Rung Arun Maneechot began her journey as Head GCV Ambassador on April 10, we have witnessed truly remarkable milestones. From achieving millions in GCV data to establishing ambassadors across 74 regions, your efforts have laid a strong foundation for the growth of GCV in Thailand. I want to sincerely commend every one of you ambassadors, merchants, and pioneers for your dedication, seriousness, and commitment. The results we see today are a direct reflection of your hard work, discipline, and willingness to take action. You have proven that we are not just building an idea; we are creating a living, thriving ecosystem. Acknowledging Our Leadership Team Let me recognize our outstanding leadership team: Ms. Rung Arun Maneechot, our Head GCV Ambassador, has led with vision and determination. She has coordinated and guided Regional Ambassadors, set clear goals, monitored progress, provided support, and ensured the successful propagation of GCV initiatives throughout Thailand. Mr. Banjong Wongnarong, our GCV Education Ambassador, thank you for educating and empowering the community. Global Context & Adoption Examples Across the world, the International Industry Alliance is growing rapidly. In China, Yiwu has 5,000 factories producing over 1,000 products, all ready to export using partial Pi payment and fiat, and Mr. Jiao’s auto-parts business is also integrated and ready for export proof of China’s real-world adoption of Pi. In Vietnam, a major rice exporter is now accepting Pi for trade, marking real-world adoption in agriculture. In the Arab region, seven companies have joined the alliance. And this is just the beginning. Soon, we will see many more companies globally accepting Pi, supporting GCV, and helping us build a new value chain. Businesses can use Pi within the ecosystem or exchange it for goods and services, creating a self-sustaining Pi economy. Our ultimate goal is for businesses worldwide to accept Pi, giving the world a clear reason to recognize and respect GCV, because real businesses are using Pi in commerce and trade. As we celebrate and reflect on Africa Day today, it is important to qualify the intervention by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola. What he says is correct, the issue of immigration in South Africa is indeed a crisis, and instead of focusing on peripheral issues, attention should be directed at the root causes, the push factors driving African migrants from countries such as Zimbabwe and Mozambique into South Africa, both legally and illegally. The fact of the matter is that we all know what the problem is: misgovernance. And the African National Congress, which has governed South Africa since 1994, is fully aware of this reality. Yet it has continued politically supporting the regimes in the region that have contributed to creating this crisis inside South Africa itself. We all know that ZANUPF rigs elections. We all know that it presides over a deeply corrupt system. We also know that some within the ANC benefit politically and materially from relationships with ZANUPF. So while Minister Lamola’s comments sound correct in principle, many people across the region have become sceptical because statements are repeatedly made, yet very little changes in practice. As we saw during the recent Southern African Development Community (SADC) foreign ministers’ meeting held in South Africa, Zimbabwe’s Foreign Minister, Dr Amon Murwira, was effectively in denial, insisting there is no immigration crisis affecting Southern Africa or South Africa. As long as leaders continue issuing statements without confronting the underlying governance failures driving migration, this crisis will persist. This is fundamentally a crisis of failed leadership. That is why other parts of Africa, and indeed other regions of the world, often look at Southern Africa with disbelief. We know what the problem is, and we know what needs to be done, yet we refuse to act. Worse still, regional leaders continue defending and embracing the very political systems that are producing the collapse, namely ZANUPF in Zimbabwe and FRELIMO in Mozambique, even after disputed elections, corruption scandals, and institutional decay. It is not rocket science why Zimbabweans cross into South Africa to seek medical treatment. It is not rocket science why a significant number of women giving birth at Musina Hospital are Zimbabwean. It is because Zimbabwe’s public healthcare system has collapsed under corruption and decades of misgovernance. Zimbabwe’s largest public hospital still relies on a single maternity theatre built in 1977. The country’s public health sector has, for years, lacked a functioning radiotherapy cancer treatment machine for the entire nation. Under such conditions, desperate citizens will inevitably cross borders, legally and illegally, in search of survival and dignity. Tragically, it is ordinary poor Africans who now become pawns in political battles. Politicians exploit immigration to whip up emotions and win votes, while many of those same political actors continue protecting, legitimising, and enabling the governance failures that created the migration crisis in the first place. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) issued a scathing report on Zimbabwe’s 2023 election. Yet the first president to go and celebrate that disputed victory was South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. It therefore does not make sense for South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, to correctly speak about the root causes of the immigration crisis while his own government continues supporting and legitimising the very systems creating those root causes. After the SADC report was released, the Secretary-General of the African National Congress openly declared “Viva Mnangagwa.” That kind of duplicitous behaviour does not build confidence among citizens in South Africa or across Southern Africa.
